Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
Wow. This was amazing. I bought some baby broccoli, which tastes like a cross between broccoli and asparagus, as my husband loves asparagus but hates broccoli. And he ate this and loved it! In fact, he was still raving about it the day after. I didn't use cashews because I didn't have any on hand. You must try it!!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
okay. this is one of the best things i have ever eaten. i had rice pudding for the first time from a wonderful dairy and just had to find a recipe to match it. well this exceeded it. by far. i used medium grain rice so that it would be even creamier, used rapadura sugar instead of white sugar because it's better for you and added some cinnamon. this is amazing. i absolutely love it. my mother in law said it's better than what her mom used to make and begged me for the recipe. just try it... you'll love it!

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
This was good. My husband gave it a 3, I gave it a 4 and my brother in law a 5. I did marinate the chicken in the taco seasoning with some water though. But other than that, I did it just as stated.

LOVED this chicken. Just try it. I loved it. Did it exactly as stated, only halved the recipe. Don't know what made it so amazing, but it was. MUST TRY!

Chicken Piccata II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
This was pretty good. I fell into the same problem that many other reviewers did with the coating falling off of the chicken when the liquid was added. I made sure the chicken was pretty much done and all the way browned and it still came off. Definitely need to double or triple the sauce. Wasn't quite lemony enough for me. But it had good flavor. Maybe I would use half unsalted butter and half salted because all salted was too salty....and I am a huge salt person. So for me to say that, it was salty. It was good though.

This chicken was pretty good. Not amazing. But it was definitely good. Couldn't taste the sour cream at all.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
This lasagna was really good. However, my family enjoys my lasagna recipe a bit better. The sauce in this recipe was outstanding by itself, but I found the homemade taste was lost in the final product. I don't think it was much better than if I had used a jarred sauce in the lasagna. Try this sauce by itself over pasta though.

Pressure Cooker Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I really enjoyed this recipe. It's right up there with the beef stew I make in a stock pot that cooks for 4 hours. So time-wise, this recipe wins. The only thing that I like about the other stew better is the red wine. The meat in this recipe is just as tender. Also, since this recipe has no wine, I was able to grind it up in the bullet for my 10 month old, who ate it up! To give it a little more taste, I put some hot sauce on my serving.

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I haven't tried the sauce in this recipe, because I didn't have all the ingredients. But the meatballs are amazing. Looking back at the recipe, I don't know what it is that makes them so amazing. But whatever it is, they are soooo good. Now having tried both sauteed AND meatballs cooked directly in the sauce, cooking them in the sauce is my favorite. They are so much more tender. Looking forward to trying the sauce next time.

School Lunchroom Cafeteria Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I, like other reviewers, am wondering how it is that I really didn't like these rolls, yet others really loved them. Different strokes I guess. The rolls in my school cafeteria were amazing and these just tasted completely bland. The only flavor I could taste was the yeast, which wasn't appealing. Since it made so many, I threw out lots of rolls. My family just didn't enjoy them.

Sugar Snap Peas with Mint

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I got an account just to rate this recipe. These are awesome. My family absolutely loves them. Husband asks for them regularly. It seemed so strange to put mint in with the peas, but it is really amazing. I'm not a huge fan of sugar snap peas, but this recipe changed my mind! When I don't have green onions on hand, I use regular onions and they turn out great.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I'm kind of torn on this recipe. I made 24 mini muffins and one loaf out of the batter. The loaf is still cooking so I can't rate that just yet. The muffins are okay. They're really moist so I love the texture, but seem a bit bland. I doubled the cinnamon, but still can't taste that OR the other spices. And I can't exactly taste the pumpkin either! So it's good for the texture, but so far, I'm not thrilled with the taste.
