Great versatile recipe. I use it on cheescake, pound cake, as a layer cake filling, and of course pancakes. I freeze it in small amounts (Glad plastic containers, the small size) and defrost throughout the winter. Thanks

Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Basil

Very good, I used large scallops instead of shrimp this time. I will make this in the summer when my fresh herb garden is blooming. I added a dash of garlic powder to enhance the fresh garlic. I used fresh grape tomato cut in half. Thank you

Sour Cream Banana Cake

This recipe has a lot of banana taste, I loved it. I only had three over ripe bananas, but that was enough. I did find it a bit dry, I could have over baked because I baked it in the 9 x 12 pan. Next time I will add a little more sour cream and hope it gets more moist. I also added a small amount of almond extract to the frosting because I did not add the nuts to the batter.

Baked Ziti I

Great, I added some chopped fresh parsley and basil to the simmering sauce. I made a mixture of sour cream and ricotta cheese and added one egg, a sprinkle of dried italian seasoning and some garlic powder. This is a great recipe, like a ziti lasagna, only easier. Thank you

White Cake Frosting I

I have tried many home made icing recipes and this is the best. Using butter flavor crisco did give the icing a slight yellow tint, but I was using food dye to color the icing so that did not matter. This is the best icing recipe, thanks

Irish Soda Bread

Wonderful recipe!!!! The best tasting. I used baking raisins ( they are moist) and decreased the amount (many people don't like raisins). I baked in a stone loaf pan and took it out after 60 minutes. FANTASTIC. This will be my annual recipe on st pats day. Thanks

Scallops with White Wine Sauce I

Great sauce. I seared the scallops in a cast iron pan with the oil, then removed and let them finish baking in the oven. I then added the wine and deglazed the pan and added the rest of the ingredients. I only used one tbsp of butter and next time I will also cut the heavy cream to 1/4 cup. The scallops were tender and the sauce was great. Thank you

Miniature Cheesecakes

This recipe is excellent. The batter has a nice consistency. My recipe only made 20 cupcakes, double for a large crowd. I topped them with Pollander All Fruit - Black Cherry. Delious. Next time I will freeze some. Thank you

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

I have never made my own pizza crust from scratch, plus I am from New Jersey, the home of great pizza. But I have to say that this was a great recipe. I needed more flour than called for, but that could have been the weather. I rolled the dough out and put it on a pizza stone, then used the "easy pizza sauce" recipe and the "italian style sausage" receipe from this site. It was great. Because each of the recipes were double what I needed, I froze the leftover dough, sauce and sausage for another time. Next time I would like to try the "white pizza dip" recipe from this site on the crust. I am thinking of having a pizza party and ask people to bring their own pizza stone. Thanks

Italian Style Sausage

Great. I could not find the plain ground pork so I used the Jimmy Dean sausage. I added the spices as specified. It was very good. I froz the leftovers for another pie. Next time I will not cook the sausage mixture until quite done. It got a little black in the oven. But tasted great. I made, also from this site, Jays Signature pizza crust and the easy pizza sauce. I am from NJ the home of great Pizza Pie and this was mixture was just as good as we have here. I will make this again. Thanks

Easy Pizza Sauce I

Easy and great. I used less water and more spices (double). I made the sauce as I was waiting for the pizza dough yeast to settle. Then let it sit for one and one half hours while the pizza dough rose. I made, also from this site, Jays Signature pizza crust and the italian sausage mix. I froze the leftovers from the pizza dough and sausage mix for another pie. I am from NJ the home of great Pizza Pie and this was mixture was just as good as we have here. I will make this again.

Simply Lemon Baked Chicken

Very good, moist chicken. I used chicken breasts bone in and layed the squeezed lemon under them. Baked in a stone pan. I found not a profound lemon flavor. Next time, I will squeeze two whole lemons over two breasts. After baking, I boiled the drippings in a small saucepan adding lemon juice and a twig of tyme until reduced. I poured the sauce over the chicken before serving. Excellent. Thank you -

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Great and Easy soup recipe. I use the slow cooker chicken broth recipe from this site. Add poultry seasoning, salt and pepper and dean and delucas fine herbs. Serve with the great garlic cheese biscuit recipe from this site. Makes a complete "All Recipe" web site meal.

Chicken Broth in a Slow Cooker

I love this EASY recipe. No watching the stove, everything in the crock pot. I cooked it overnight. I used chicken thighs and because my herb garden is still thriving I added whole sprigs of parsley, tyme and basil. Then some dried chicken seasoning, salt and pepper and Dean and DeLuca's fine herbs. I remove chicken with slotted spoon and strain the broth thru a fine strainer. Then use or freeze. Thanks for the easy and delicious recipe.

Easy Key Lime Pie I

This was an easy recipe. I bought a bag of key limes because they were cute and decided to make the pie. I prepared the boxed pie crust mix and baked the crust according to the directions putting parchment paper on the crust and filling it with dried beans. After 10 min. I removed the paper and beans and baked it for 5 minutes more. While waiting for the crust to bake and cool, I squeezed all the limes and prepared the filling. I thought the final product was quite tasty but a smidgen too tart for me. Next time I will add maybe a tablespoon of sugar and/or sprinkle sugar on the filling before I put it in the oven to bake. Thanks for an easy recipe.

Black Beans and Rice

This is an easy side dish recipe. I used less rice and less beans to make a small batch. 1/2 cup rice and one can of drained black beans. Instead of cumin (I don't like cumin) I used taco seasoning. Great tasting and EASY. Thanks

Mama's Best Broiled Tomato Sandwich

This is a terrific recipe. I made it in August when tomatos are at their peak flavor, but I can see making it in the winter with fresh plum tomato. Also because it was summer I added fresh chopped herbs to the mayo mixture, parsley, rosemary and basil. As it was a poolside lunch, I put the prepared sandwiches on a foil lined, thick cookie sheet and put it on the grill and closd the lid for about 5 minutes. But broiling would give it a bubbly top. Also, THICK DENSE bread is a MUST! And remember to toast the bread first. Thank you so much for this recipe, my daughter the vegetarian even asked for the recipe.

Chicken Satay

This is an EXCELLENT recipe. I soaked wooden skewers in water for about 5 hours while the chicken marinated. I had cut the chicken into tenders (long and thin). Then threaded the chicken on the skewers and grilled for about 15 minutes. It was easy and tasted great, my backyard smelled like a chinese restaurant. Thanks.

Dad's Excellent Scallops

Very good recipe. The suggestion about the frozen scallops was great. I found them (not the same brand, but large size scallops) in my grocery store, no problem. I was tempted to use bacon instead of prosciutto, but that would not have been as good. The bacon would have over powered the scallop. Then I marinated the scallops in bottled italian salad dressing for about a half hour. I was worred about them sticking to the grill, so I put the marinated, prosciutto wrapped scallops on metal skewers and then put the skewers on a special shish kabob metal holder that lays on the top of the grill surface. This keeps the skewer off of the grill surface. I continued to baste them during the cooking time with the salad dressing. I grilled them for about 20 minutes. (the scallops were large and partially frozen) They were GREAT, very light actually. I can understand why some reviewers felt they were a little on the salty side, but that is the taste of the prosciutto. I did not feel the taste as over powering. I served them with saffron rice that I had made previously and frozen (from this site) and it was a great easy summer meal. This would also make a great company dish or last minute meal as one reviewer suggested. Thanks for the recipe and thanks for the suggestions.
