About this Cook
I learned to cook on my Easy Bake Oven back when I was 8 years old. I quickly tired of that (dad never did want to cut those wee little cakes into 5 pieces and share!) and moved onto boxed recipes. Mom was smart, she saw my interest in cooking, allowed me to pour over her cookbooks and by the time I was 10, I was making supper for my family, 3 times a week. I LOVE to cook. Sometimes life gets crazy and busy with a hubby, 5 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 mice and a part-time job but I still love to cook. My two older kids ans I have our own cansy business. Mainly in the Fall for craft fairs and such....we make homemade fudges and candies...,helps with Christmas!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking and anything goes!
My cooking triumphs
I think one of my character-dishes is my Vhicken Veggie Corn Chowder. I started making it years ago and added a little of this and the next time, added a little of that, until I came up with the finished product. I get asked for this recipe everytime I make it. It is not a healt-conscious recipe...but it is oh-so-good!

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad
I remember this from my childhood and searched Allrecipes for it...this is by far the best! I made this last weekend for 4th of July (and added fresh blueberries to the ffresh strawberries and jello mixture to make red, white and blue) now I am making 2 for another cookout today. Everyone toldme there just was not enough to go around last time! Thanks for the recipe!

Texas Caviar with Avocado
I wish I could give this 10 feel like you are eating health-from-a-garden, and yet, sneaking an incredible-it-has-to=be-bad-for=you snack! I make this often, and it makes a lot...thre is never any left. It takes time to prepare, because of all the chopping and such. I tend to leave out the jalapeno and rely on the cayenne for just a hint of hot. I also add a chopped, sweet, red bell pepper and crisp sweet white corn. I make Good Season Italian dressing, which tastes so much better and is better, for you and I add chopped cilantro and a fresh lime squeezed over the top. Thanks you for this recipe! I love it!

Banana Banana Bread
Such a moist, yummy bread. I doubled the batch and it didn't last 24 hours in my house! I was lucky to get a piece!
