Cooking and baking over 50 years.
I love impromtu get-togethers with family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
Homemade bread, rolls, cakes, pies, desserts.
Poached salmon, crab cakes, lasagna, spaghetti,
casseroles, pot roast, turkey with all the trimmings.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Preparing salad, spaghetti, garlic bread for easy family mealtime.
Now my grandchildren help as my sou-chefs with all preparations,
from setting the table to peeling, slicing, dicing veggies and fruit salad.
Roasting turkey, pork or beef for holiday meals with all the trimmings.
My cooking triumphs
Desserts for special occasions.
My cooking tragedies
For our first Thanksgiving in our first home, I baked pumpkin pies that looked really good.
I gave one to our neighbor who had been very helpful.
As my husband took his first bite of our pie, he grimaced and asked:
"What did you do to this pie?"
We discovered that I omitted the sugar called for.
I immediately ran next door and stated: "Don't eat that, it's terrible".
Our neighbors laughed and understood the follies of a young bride.
Once when making lasagna without cooking noodles first, the whole thing overcooked and my grandkids still echo: "Don't burn the Lasagna".
