Mandarin Shrimp and Vegetable Stir Fry

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
I used the full amount of orange marmalade. I think in the future I would try 3/4 cup. I only had regular marmalade. And I only used 1tsp of the pepper sauce because I was feeding it to children. This was a nice base recipe. I'm sure you can mix and match meats and vegetables depending on what is in the fridge/freezer.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
Recipe was great. I had a problem with my oven, however. As soon as I turn it off, a fan turns on to cool it off, so it won't hold a temperature for long like the recipe would like. So, I started like everyone else, then let it be off for 1 hour then turned it on 200 degrees. Told the husband to take it out to check it, but he forgot (I was at the store). Luckily, it turned out perfect. It baked at 200 for 2 hours maybe. So it was in the oven for 3.5 hours total, I guess. Next time I want to try it at 475 for the 21 minutes and then 200 the rest of the time until done. I served on toasted french loaf with a homemade Au Jus sauce- recipe from another website- can't believe there wasn't one here. Yummmy!

Berdean's Cube Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2010
Very simple and easy. I have another recipe that's similar, but simmering the meat for so long is key. It made my embarassingly old cube steaks fork tender. The only thing I did different was use an electric fry pan and used venison cube steaks. I also made gravy out of the bits left in the pan. My kids loved it!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
I loved it, though I made it too hot. I used 6oz. hot food club brand jarred jalapenos, and while it tasted fine cold, after I baked it, it sure got spicy hot. I'll only use about 3 or 4 oz. next time. Added bread crumbs to the top too.

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
I liked this recipe. Its a variation of one I usually use, but the golden mushroom soup made quite a difference. I took the advice of one reviewer and fried, then simmered the pork chops in my electric frypan. I also breaded this in fryin' magic instead of just salt and pepper. Wonderful.

Monster Cookies VI

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
This was a great recipe. My only change was to add about 1.5 cups of flaked coconut (an impulse) and used the small pampered chef scoop. I like little cookies. Baked up perfect. Still moist and wonderful on day 2.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 19, 2009
These were great. I used a small pampered chef cookie scooper and came out with about 88 cookies or so from the one batch. I did not used a sugared fork to flatten. No need. Added Chocolate chips in half (for me). Very good recipe.

Hearty Ham Pie

Nice recipe. Might try it with a crescent roll crust next time instead of the pie crust. I might like it even better then.

Baked Potato Skins

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
These turned out okay for me. Not sure where I went wrong. Maybe I erred too much on the side of caution and left too much potato in the skin? I might try them again.

Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
Very nice recipe. Doubled the sauce, but didn't use quite double the vinegar. Didn't have rice vinegar- used apple cider vinegar. Shook out the excess cornstarch before frying. At the end I mixed a bit of cornstarch with OJ to thicken up the sauce since mine didn't- possibly since I sort of doubled it. Also added a few red pepper flakes. I ate way too much!

Venison Bacon Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
I've never liked venison burgers (and swore I'd never eat them again), but this recipe is most excellent and I'm so glad I tried it. The 5 and 3 year old ate theirs gone. I'm actually looking forward to making these again! The only modification I made was to use onions instead of shallots. Thank you so much for the recipe.

Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
I made the recommended changes- sauteed mushrooms and garlic and added a can of cream of mushroom soup to the broth and also added a bit of swiss cheese to the mozzarella for more flavor- awesome add in! Added cheese the last 15 minutes of baking along with a shake of parmesan and bread crumbs. A winner.

I've made this many, many times since I've discovered the recipe on this website and haven't changed a thing. Always a hit and I've been asked for the recipe a number of times.
