Cuban Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2014
Easy, simple to make and a perfect balance of flavors. This is another recipe that seems too simple to be good. It is absolutely fantastic. I did use a little more olive oil and cut the pork up into bite-sized pieces. As a time-saver, I made a douple recipe and put half of the pork and marinade in a ziplock in the freezer. A week later I let it defrost in the fridge overnight and the next day it was just as wonderful as the fresh batch. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Kale and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2014
Wonderful recipe. This recipe always reminds me that simple recipes that are well balanced are almost always better than the complicated ones. I used a little less salt than called for. I hadn't heard of "massaging" kale before and that has become my all-time favorite kale technique. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Hot Tamale Pie

This was fantastic! I made it as written with the exception of substituting Rotel for salsa. It wasn't just yummy, it also looked like the picture. Bonus!

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
Sean - thank you!! I have always been a fan of falafel, but I had no idea how it was supposed to taste. Wow - moist, lemony, herby, fresh, crispy... It is completely different from what I have known as falafel. Of course now that I know what I'm missing, I will always have to have homemade!

Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
WOW! This chicken really explodes in your mouth! What a wonderful recipe. I highly recommend grilling the chicken. I served it with some jasmine rice and a little salad of cucumber, red onion, red pepper, lime juice, tsp. sugar and splash of rice wine vinegar. I made a few changes to the ingredients - doubled the peanut butter, more garlic, fresh ginger, tsp. hot curry powder and about 2 tsp. of Penzey's "Bangkok Blend". Just wonderful flavor - thanks!!
