Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
This is the second banana bread recipe I have tried from this site. This recipe is definitely the best ever. It's moist, not overly sweet, and soooo easy to make. Just a suggestion - make certain you buy very ripe bananas (this will make a difference in the flavor). I sprinkled just a little bit of ground cinnamon on the bottom of the pan for a nice smelling aroma. Thanks for a great recipe!

Ahi Poke Basic

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
Ahi Poke can be made many different ways. My favorite Ahi Poke was prepared by a Hawaiian BBQ restaurant. This recipe is similar to that of the restaurant. I added ginger (chopped small), white onion (sliced), lemon juice, and I used Shoyu sauce instead of regular soy sauce. It was delicious. My family asked for it two weekends in a row. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
I didn't give it a five star because it was a little too sweet for me. Next time I would use less sugar. I cooked it for a my father's big 6oth birthday and my very picky family gobbled it all up. I didn't have any leftovers because it was the first item (of 20) they finished. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

Cioppino

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
This is by far the best cioppino recipe I've tried. I modified it a little to please my very picky family. I followed the recipe to the t, but I scooped out a lot of the seasoning from the broth because I am don't care for whole pieces of onions. I was left with a very pleasing aroma in the broth without the whole onions. I made 3 times the amount of the recipe (I had to feed about 50 people) and by the end of the evening, nothing was left and they all wanted the recipe. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

Baked Flan

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
This recipe deserves a 5 star. It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, the texture was perfect, and the flan looked very appetizing. With this recipe I won't have to buy my flan anymore. Thanks for the recipe!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
I had so much fun with this recipe. The first batch turned out very hard and inedible due to my own fault. I didn't give up and was rewarded with my second batch. It was a big hit with my very picky family. Even my uncle who didn't care for sweets had two of these cookies. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Shrimp, Clams, and Scallops Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
I liked how the sauce mixed well with the seafood and pasta. I would use less white wine next time because it was a little too strong in flavor. I loved the hint of spiciness and I loved the smell. I would definitely try this one again. Thank you for the recipe!

This is my first disappointment. I followed the recipe exactly as written. It was way too sweet.

Cream Puffs

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
I've always thought cream puffs were extremely difficult to make. Well, with this recipe even a beginner like myself was able to make a yummy batch. I took the advice of other cook and used 2 cups of milk and 1 cup of heavy cream. I had the first batch deflate so I followed another cook's advice and poked holes (this worked). Thank you for this recipe an all the inputs!

Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Basil

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
I was really excited to find this recipe, but after trying it out I had to deduct two stars. First, the sauce didn't blend or mix with the pasta. I had to make certain to scoop some sauce with every bite of pasta. Secondly, it was kind of bland. I try adding more garlic salt and still tasted too much tomato. Oh well, lesseon learned.

Cajun Seafood Pasta

I learned my lesson. DO NOT buy cheap fettucini and don't over cook the seafood. I would add more spices next time.

Crab Tartlets

It was quite easy to make, but I would add a little more mayonnaise and I would use dungeness crab instead of king crab next time.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

I enjoyed this recipe, but there was a little too much balsamic vinegar. Next time I will decrease the amount of balsamic vinegar.
