About this Cook
Cooking has been a real adventure for me. I'm single, and normally cook for just one or two. BTW, the "Tarsus" in my profile name is after Paul of Tarsus, one of my heroes. He was a perfect example of his own doctrine. I've learned alot since joining All Recipes, and like trying new things.
My favorite things to cook
Chicken, tacos, pasta, soups, chili
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mexican. My mom made the most wonderful tacos, including her own homemade shells. They were kind of chewy, and that meant that the taco didn't snap in two when you bit into it.
My cooking triumphs
Not burning the kitchen down. Also, had surprising luck with a beef tenderloin. Pasta dishes are among my favorites. Since joining Allrecipes, I have had a wonderful learning experience. I made an awesome lasagna, slow cooker meals, and things that even the moms compliment me on.
My cooking tragedies
Slow cooker hell. When I first started with a slow cooker, I put the macaroni in at the start, and also the rice one time. Needless to say, it turned to mush. Also, I still can't boil a decent egg, or melt chocolate.

Quinoa and Black Beans
Nice recipe. Quinoa has quickle become my favorite grain. I normally load up on the onion; I think it compliments the quinoa.
