Brown Sugar and Pineapple Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
This is how I usually make a ham and everyone loves it. My boyfriend will ask for me to make my ham and pineapples atleast once a month. I usually use a boneless ham as I get grossed out by bones in any kind of meat. I also will use canned pineapple in pineapple juice if we don't have fresh pineapple. The only other thing I do differently is I put the brown sugar on the ham first then cook it then make more glaze and add it about an hour before done then again about 30 mins. later. I kind of tripple glaze the ham!! Great recipe!!

The Devil's Own Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
I made these for a family gathering a few weeks ago after reading the recipe on here. Everyone loved them. I only used the jalapeno pepper because that is all I had on hand at the time. We had another family gathering a few days ago and I was asked to make them again so this time I used the habanero also and they really liked them. I have a feeling that I will be making these for every family gathering now.

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
I decided to try this recipe because I've never made ribs by baking them. I really liked the ribs baked in the oven they were not tough at all they were falling off the bone in fact! I didn't make the sauce because I didn't have everything for it so I used Barb-B- Que Sauce recipe from this site. I love the 2 recipes together. This recipe was very easy for me to make with 2 kids running around the house and a fussy 4 month old also. I plan to make these again soon thanks so much!

Bacon Water Chestnut Wraps

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
These are very good. I did make 2 changes to the recipe. First I used precooked bacon because I had read another recipe in a magazine that said to use it. The other change I made because I have some picky eaters at the party I made these for so I just put the sauce on the side. I really wish I would have put the sauce on top and baked them like that but they were still great!

Bar-B-Que Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
I love love love this recipe!!! I made it a few days ago when I made Barbecue Ribs from this site. The ribs recipe had it's own sauce but I didn't have everything for it and I didn't think the sauce would have fit my familys taste just from reading the ingredients, so I decided to look for a sauce recipe that would fit and I found this one. I'm so so so glad I found this recipe! I worked out great for the ribs, but after I tasted it I thought about how many other things I could use it with also. I think this Bar- B-Que sauce would be awesome with the mini hot dogs that you put in a slow cooker with bbq sauce mmmmmm.... I can't wait to try this recipe with all my ideas!! Thanks!

Pizza Stix

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2011
I'm not gonna give this a rating just yet beacuse I used spring roll wrappers instead of egg roll wrappers. When I went to the store to buy the egg roll wrappers they were out so I figured the spring roll ones would be just as good. WRONG!!! Trust me it was so incredibly greasey we couldn't eat them and had to toss them out. I do plan to try these again but using the egg roll wrappers. I just wanted everyone to learn from my mistake.

Lunch Box Hot Hot Dogs

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
I need a new idea for my almost 9 year old for her school lunch because she was sick of all the normal things I would send her. I was a bit worried that she would make a mess getting the hot dog out but she didn't the hot dog was just the right size for her to put her fingers in and reach it ( I use the bun length hot dogs) I didn't have to send packets of ketchup because they have them at her school already. When she got home she said everyone kept asking where she got her hot dog and she told them what I did. The next day a few kids came to school with it in there lunches. When I went and picked her up from school yesterday her teacher asked how I kept her hot dog warm so she could send it for her kids that are right around the same age I laughed and told her.

Cheesy Ranch Chex® Mix

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
This is a nice change from normal chex mix. I used 3 cups each of rice, corn, and wheat chex. I also used pretzel rods as that's what I had on hand and then I used 3 cups of chedder goldfish! The only other things I changed was I melted the butter mixed in the Ranch seasoning poured that over tossed together then tossed in some parmesan cheese and baked it at 250 for a hour stirring every 15 mins.

French Egg and Bacon Sandwich

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
I'm only giving this 4 stars because you really need to add a few things while making the french toast like milk, vanilla, and cinnamon sugar. If you add them things it's definatly a ***** recipe. I also like this because you could make the egg fried or scrambled and you can use ham or sausage instead of bacon. I didn't put the syrup on them because the kids wantd to eat them with their hands and that would have just made a huge mess that I would have had to clean up and syrup is hard to clean up off small kids.

Make-Ahead Baked Egg Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
I made these yesterday, froze them, and reheated them just now. They are really good. I did change it up first I added salt and pepper to the eggs. I used English muffins and American cheese. Also I used sausage patties not ham although I can't wait to try the ham. I also just made the eggs in a pan and scrambled them because I was making them for breakfast and just decided to try these sandwiches. I only had 2 problems and they came from the eggs so I don't think if I bake the eggs next time I will have these problems. The first problem is the eggs didn't stay on the sandwich and the second is some of the eggs are still cold after heating them up. I still love this idea. Thanx so much!! Update: I have now made these a few times and I tried the ham and baked the eggs and they are great. I also made them using bagels and they are great that way also. This is a really great recipe that you can make using whatever you like. My 14 month old likes to eat just the baked egg. I will cut her a small square and she just holds it and eats it. I made an entire pan of eggs just for her and froze them and reheat them in the morning for her breakfast it's so fast and easy. I really love this recipe it's helped me so much.

Broccoli with Rigatoni

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
I absolutly loved this and so did my kids and hubby, but I changed it up a lot with the suggestions of others. When I first added this recipe to my box I thought it sounded so good but then realized it would be bland so I thought of adding chicken then I read a lot of the reviews and ended up changing alot of things. First added chicken cooked it in a bit of oil and added a few seasonings to the chicken, after the chicken was cooked I pulled it out of the pan and put it in with the cooked noodles. I then sauted the garlic with the broccoli and then added a few red pepper flakes, Onion and garlic powder. I melted garlic butter in a pan and poured it over the noodles, chicken and broccoli and then added the cheese then tossed it all together. I then added a bit more cheese to the top! It was great even the next day cold or reheated. My daughter took it for her school lunch cold.

Ham and Cheese Crescent Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
Im giving these 3 stars because the cheese melted out and all over the cookie sheet, the edges of the ham started to burn also! I have now made these a few times and figured out a few tips, first use the sheet of crescent dough roll it works much better and just roll it up (looks like a huge stromboli). Second you can use swiss, American, provolone, or pepper Jack cheese! I have also changed it up and used Turkey and bacon or peperoni and crumbled sausage. We tried the ham with mustard and we didn't care for it. We dip the peperoni ones in pizza sauce. The last time I made these I made an egg wash and brushed the tops with that and sprinkled parsley on the tops! These are great as breakfast, lunch, dinner or a fast snack!

Dessert Nachos

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
I made these for a dessert a few days ago and my family loved them. I did double the peanut butter and powder sugar as suggested by another reviewer. I also didn't bother to melt the chocolate chips as they will melt when in the broiler. Oh yeah and last thing that I changed was I didn't do the coconut because my family doesn't like it!! This is a great fast dessert for a mexican themed dinner or just if you have all the ingredients on hand!! Thanks will make lots more!!

Slow Cooker Carolina BBQ

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
I would give this 10 stars if I could!!!! It is soooooo good!!!!! I was craving some pulled pork sandwhiches for a few days so I decided I was making them for dinner and the store just so happen to have boneless pork shoulder roast on sale ( I hate touching any meat with bones). I pretty much followed the recipe other then using the boneless roast I added onion powder and garlic salt and I used sea salt because it's what I had on hand. The only other change I made was putting Liquid smoke in with the vineger. I didn't put the cayenne or red pepper in because my little girl was going to be eating it and I didn't want it to spicy for her. I will be making this recipe a lot now. We are having left overs for either luch or dinner or possibly both!

Citrus Turkey Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
I made this for dinner a few nights ago because I had bought a Turkey Breast Tenderloin and looked for a recipe but really couldn't find one then I was told I could just put into a crock pot, I then found this recipe so I used this but changed it up a bit because I had to use what I had in the house. I used the Turkey breast tenderloin and garlic powder and paprika I used veg. oil not olive oil ( although I think olive oil would have been a lot better) I didn't have any Worcestershire sauce. I did but a dash of soy sauce in it. I used salt and pepper and the garlic cloves. I used chicken broth not wine. I also had O.J. in the fridge but at some point through the night my boyfriend must have got up and drank the rest of it, so I couldn't use that either. I made the gravy and it was great. I made homemade mashed potatoes and corn with this along with some dinner rolls. Great dinner

Crispy Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
I used this recipe for dinner lastnight! This is only like the 2nd maybe 3 rd time I have ever made fried chicken and it turned out good! I only had 2 problems I was heating the oil while the chicken sat and waited for the crust to trun into a "paste like" as the directions said well after almost an hour it still looked the same to me (not paste like at all (1st problem)) so my oil got a little to hot and the chicken ended up burning (2nd problem). On the second batch that I put in the pan I just kept the chicken at the same temp and it turned out a perfect golden color and was cooked perfectly also! The only things I changed where I added hot sauce to the buttermilk and I added a few other spices to the flour. Thanks for the recipe

Spoiled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
I really didn't care for this recipe all that much. I will not ever boil my ribs again. Pork needs to be cooked slow and low, I will continue to bake them in the oven. I also had to add a few ingredients to the sauce to make it taste good. I'm sorry we didn't really care to much for this recipe.

Slow Cooker Chili II

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
I made this for New Years Eve for a family pot luck party. It turned out great. I actually had to make 2 pots of it because my grandfather has a special diet right now and can't have Green peppers, onions, and Salt. I made one pot without them ingredients and it turned out great for him. The second pot I made I left out the celery and added a bit of cummin. I also put the onion green pepper and garlic in the pan while I was browning the ground beef. Oh yeah and I used 1 really big can of Tomato sauce and as we don't really like super thick chili. This is a very good recipe even without all of the ingredients!
