Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
I have been making Steak and Cheese sandwiches somewhat like this for about 8 years. I like using actual steak not the super thin steak umms. I followed the recipe pretty much I did add mushrooms because I love them on steak sandwiches. I only made 3 because that is all I needed. I will make these again with the garlic mayo which really made these over the top great!! My step daughter wants to try the garlic mayo on a hot ham and cheese for lunch one day soon. She really loved the mayo also.

Monkey Bread

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
I just got done making this. It's great. I had to make a double batch because I have a really big bunt pan. It didn't work so well because the outside got really hard and some of the middle is still not all the way done. The hardness is from trying to cook it longer so it would all be done. I guess I will just have to get a smaller pan. Thanks for the recipe.

Cheddar Garlic Biscuits

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
I made these last night with our dinner. They are delicious. The only changes I made is I didn't put any onion in them and I put the garlic powder into the batter to hide it from my picky mother, and I used a full cup of cheese. The recipe says it makes 15 but they would have been tiny so I just made 9 regular sized biscuits.

Make-Ahead Baked Egg Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
I made these yesterday, froze them, and reheated them just now. They are really good. I did change it up first I added salt and pepper to the eggs. I used English muffins and American cheese. Also I used sausage patties not ham although I can't wait to try the ham. I also just made the eggs in a pan and scrambled them because I was making them for breakfast and just decided to try these sandwiches. I only had 2 problems and they came from the eggs so I don't think if I bake the eggs next time I will have these problems. The first problem is the eggs didn't stay on the sandwich and the second is some of the eggs are still cold after heating them up. I still love this idea. Thanx so much!! Update: I have now made these a few times and I tried the ham and baked the eggs and they are great. I also made them using bagels and they are great that way also. This is a really great recipe that you can make using whatever you like. My 14 month old likes to eat just the baked egg. I will cut her a small square and she just holds it and eats it. I made an entire pan of eggs just for her and froze them and reheat them in the morning for her breakfast it's so fast and easy. I really love this recipe it's helped me so much.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
I am making these now a I type a batch is in the oven. The first batch is out and cooled and already almost gone!! These taste wonderful. I made the cookie dough and refrigerated it for a few hours and I also put the peanut butter cups in the freezer for a few hours also. The only problem I am having is getting them out of the pan. I think next time I will grease the pan or use a silicone pan so the just pop out. Thanks so much!!

Spiced Slow Cooker Applesauce

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
I have been making applesauce for a few months now because I have a now 1 year old that I was sick of buying baby food for when I could just make it. Her favorite it chicken noodle soup and applesauce. I made this yesterday and she loved it hot. She is now eating some with toast for breakfast. The only thing I changed is I didn't have any pumpkin pie spice so I just looked what was in it and kind of made my own. I used granny smith apples because that is what I had. Next time I make this I would love to try some pears as suggested and toss in some strawberry's.

Ham and Cheese Bowties

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
I have had this recipe saved for awhile and finally decided to make it for dinner last night. My 8 year old said it's worth 4 stars. I did end up changing it a little. First I used mickey mouse pasta and used the entire box. I left out the mustard and used velveeta cheese because that is how I usually make my cheese sauce for mac and cheese we just like the flavor better. I then put bread crumbs and parmesan cheese on the top. I had 4 ham steaks left over so I put them on the top also. I usually make au gratin potatoes this way and top them with the last 4 ham steaks. I guess that is kind of what this recipe reminded me of. I will make this again and soon.

Lunch Box Hot Hot Dogs

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
I need a new idea for my almost 9 year old for her school lunch because she was sick of all the normal things I would send her. I was a bit worried that she would make a mess getting the hot dog out but she didn't the hot dog was just the right size for her to put her fingers in and reach it ( I use the bun length hot dogs) I didn't have to send packets of ketchup because they have them at her school already. When she got home she said everyone kept asking where she got her hot dog and she told them what I did. The next day a few kids came to school with it in there lunches. When I went and picked her up from school yesterday her teacher asked how I kept her hot dog warm so she could send it for her kids that are right around the same age I laughed and told her.

Citrus Turkey Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
I made this for dinner a few nights ago because I had bought a Turkey Breast Tenderloin and looked for a recipe but really couldn't find one then I was told I could just put into a crock pot, I then found this recipe so I used this but changed it up a bit because I had to use what I had in the house. I used the Turkey breast tenderloin and garlic powder and paprika I used veg. oil not olive oil ( although I think olive oil would have been a lot better) I didn't have any Worcestershire sauce. I did but a dash of soy sauce in it. I used salt and pepper and the garlic cloves. I used chicken broth not wine. I also had O.J. in the fridge but at some point through the night my boyfriend must have got up and drank the rest of it, so I couldn't use that either. I made the gravy and it was great. I made homemade mashed potatoes and corn with this along with some dinner rolls. Great dinner

Veggie Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
So I cheated on this recipe but it was still great and I do plan to make it without cheating. I cheated by using a can of stir fry veggies. I made this for a fast lunch today so all I really had to do was heat the can of veggies through and then add the soy sauce and cornstarch and a little bit of water and serve over rice that I had left over from 2 days ago!!

Marshmallow Treats

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
I love to make marshmallow treats and they turn out great. I made some yesterday but this time I used Fruity pebbles and the fun mellows ( the fruit flavored marsh mellows) I thought they would be really fruity for the kids well they really didn't work that well. I think the problem was with the marsh mellows more then the fruity pebbles. Maybe next time I will try to mix the fun mellows and regular mellows.

Ham 'n' Swiss Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
Wow!! These are great I just made these for lunch and they are gone. The only things I did differently is I didn't use any onion or mustard and I used thinly sliced deli ham and sliced Swiss cheese. They turned out great. My 1 year old ate an entire roll to her self and then she ate some of mine after that. I think I will be making these quit often and I also think next time I will try bacon in them.

Brown Sugar and Pineapple Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
This is how I usually make a ham and everyone loves it. My boyfriend will ask for me to make my ham and pineapples atleast once a month. I usually use a boneless ham as I get grossed out by bones in any kind of meat. I also will use canned pineapple in pineapple juice if we don't have fresh pineapple. The only other thing I do differently is I put the brown sugar on the ham first then cook it then make more glaze and add it about an hour before done then again about 30 mins. later. I kind of tripple glaze the ham!! Great recipe!!

Stuffed French Toast II

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
I made this for the first time on Easter Sunday for brunch at my grandma's house. We have a huge family I used a entire loaf of regular white bread because the store didn't have much else for some reason. I also used strawberry cream cheese just to make it a bit faster. I also put banana's on the inside of the sandwich of some of them. I put a bit of cinnamon in the egg mixture because that is how I always make french toast. This was the first thing gone and everyone loved it that got some. I was already asked to make it again. Thanks!!

Mexican-Style Goulash

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
I was looking for something different to try for dinner a few nights ago that was somewhat fast and I came across this recipe and really wanted to try it so I made it but also had to change it up quite a bit. First I used a packet of taco seasoning (although I really wanted to make the taco seasoning from this site. I just didn't have everything on hand, but next time that is what I plan to do) and then I used the tomatoes and tomato sauce but I also added some salsa just to give it a more Mexican flavor. I also used colby-jack cheese because once again that is what I had and usually use when making taco's. I also served it with sour cream on the side. Everyone absolutly loved this even my 1 year old ate a bowl of it. I think I will always make goulash this way now!! Thanks so much

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
I made this lastnite for dinner for my family. I bought the already pounded cube steaks. I had 8 of them so I doubled the flour didn't really need to double the rest. I didn't have buttermilk so I used regular milk and it turned out fine. I also didn't get to use the tabasco sauce because my sister can't have spicy foods because of a medical condition. The steaks were pretty thick so I had to cook them a lot longer. I also made brown gravy because that is what my mom wanted to try. I tried it with the brown gravy and the country gravy and both ways were delicious!! I will make this again for sure everyone loved it!!
