French Egg and Bacon Sandwich

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
I'm only giving this 4 stars because you really need to add a few things while making the french toast like milk, vanilla, and cinnamon sugar. If you add them things it's definatly a ***** recipe. I also like this because you could make the egg fried or scrambled and you can use ham or sausage instead of bacon. I didn't put the syrup on them because the kids wantd to eat them with their hands and that would have just made a huge mess that I would have had to clean up and syrup is hard to clean up off small kids.

Taco Turkey Wraps

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
I made this recipe for lunch today and it was really good. I only did one thing different and that was I put the sour cream on the taco shell and then sprinkled the taco seasoning on top ( I did this because I only made myself one and didn't wanna dirty a dish mixing it). I think they would have been really good with lettuce and salsa but I didn't have either on hand. I will make these again and soon. Oh yeah and my 9 year old step daughter tried a bite and loved it also and wants one for lunch tomorrow.

Cinnamon Griddle Cakes

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
These were not what I had really hoped they would be at all. I would say they were ok. The batter was really thick and as it say while the pancake in the pan was cooking it got thicker so I had to keep adding milk to it. These were not good at all if you didn't add the glaze. I tried it with just syrup and they were still not very good. I am just going to stick with making regular pancakes and sprinkling with cinnamon sugar.

Grandpa's Classic Coney Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
WOW!!! I love this Coney sauce. I made it yesterday for dinner I did do a few things different first I didn't have time to put it in a slow cooker and let it simmer for a few hours so I just left it in the pan and let it simmer for like 45 mins. ( I really wish it would have gotten to simmer longer in a slow cooker I know it would have tasted even better that way). Second I added more ketchup and I also added some garlic powder. I will make this from now on instead of buying the can of hot dog sauce from the stores. The only thing I plan to do different next time is grind the hamburger up finer.

Mini Southwestern Corn Pup Muffins with Fiesta Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
These were really good. I didn't change anything but I didn't make the fiesta dipping sauce because I didn't have any sour cream on hand although I want to try them with it. I only had two problems with these first I ran out of batter the last 3 were quite small. Second they were still not cooked after 10 to 12 mins. I ended up cooking them for about 15 to 18 mins. My 9 year old loved them but didn't care for them dough part in ketchup so she took them apart and dipped the hot dog in the ketchup.

Peanut Butter Crispies II

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
I really liked these the only changes I would make is first add more peanut butter ( but I really like peanut butter). Second add chocolate chips to the top!! Yummy!! These are a nice change from your normal rice crispy treat.

Apple Pie Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
These are so good especially if you put whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on top. They are good served hot or cold. The reason for the 4 stars is they didn't turn out very pretty and they were very very messy to make. The dough fell apart when I rolled it out and broke when I tried to put it in the dish and I didn't have enough dough for the size it calls for. The icing needed more milk then called for also because 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of milk make a paste. I also didn't need any were near 8 cups of apples I used 4 apples sliced and that was plenty. I really wanted to give these 3 stars because they were so messy to make and they just didn't turn out as expected, but they are so delicious I had to give them 4 stars.

Home Made Top Tarts!

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
I'm only giving these 4 stars because they were really messy to make. They were also messy to eat the next day when I put them in the microwave to heat them up. I took the advise of other reviewers and they were still quite messy, and the bake time took way more then 7 mins. I only made half the frosting because I only made 6 pop tarts. I will say they tasted better then the pop tarts from the store and that is why I gave them 4 stars although if I judged just on taste it would have gotten 5 stars. I will make these again but probably not to often.

NILLA® Sand Cups

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
I made these yesterday for a luau birthday party for my cousin (well more for the kids at the party). The kids loved them because they are so cute but the adults ended up eating most of them before the kids got to them. I used juju fish and sour worms. I also made some with chocolate pudding. Next time I think I may use some blue food coloring in the vanilla pudding to make the pudding blue so it looks like water!! So cute!!

Grilled Peanut Butter Apple Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
I was going to give this 4 stars until I realized that I forgot to put the cinnamon and sugar on them. I think with the cinnamon and sugar these would for sure be 5 stars. I will be making these again.

BLT Wraps

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
My 9 year old step daughter gives this 5 stars. I made BLT's for dinner and she doesn't really like bread so she usually will ask for a wrap. I finally remembered that I had this recipe and wanted her to try it with cheese and she loved it. She says thanks for the yummy recipe.

Frozen Banana Treats

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
Yummy!! I read the reviews and took some advice but I guess I'm a little dumb because the review said to freeze the bananas first so I did but you need to cut them in half, put the sticks in and peel first then freeze them. Also It helps to use a double boiler not a sauce pan. I put sprinkles on half and crumbled heath bar on the other half and left 2 plain for my sister. I think I might try them with peanut butter chips or mixing them would be really good also.

Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2010
I made these today for breakfast and they are really good. I will defiantly make these again. I followed the direction and took some of the reviewers advice also. I only used 2 tsp. of vanilla. The only problem I had was that they stuck to my pan even with the non stick cooking spray, but the only thing that really got stuck were the strawberry's so next time I think I will slice them super thin not chop them.

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
This is an amazing recipe. I followed it as written but then I added a few things. First I added some veggies like peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and zuchinni. Then I added some parmasan cheese and butter as suggested by another reviewer. I also doubled the recipe because of all of the veggies. I then let it marinate in the fridge for a few hours. I put most of the Ingredients on the skewers but since I only have 8 skewers I had some left over that I put in a pan an cooked on the stove. I loved it on the grill and out of the pan either way it was delicious. I plan to make this again and hopfully soon. Thanks soo much for this great recipe.

Strawnana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2010
I made this today and we just had some after dinner. I have my cousin's 4 year old today along with my two girls and all 3 of them at a muffin and asked for another. I made a loaf and a few muffins out of the recipe because I didn't read the entire thing before I realized it was for 2 loafs. The only thing I did different was I used extra bananas and strawberry's and didn't use any orange zest or walnuts. I cooked it for the amount of time called for and put a tooth pick in and came out clean but when I cut the loaf open the bottom looks uncooked, but I think it's because most of the strawberry's sunk to the bottom.

Dallas-Style Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
I made these for dinner last night and my entire house smelled while they were cooking. I think they smelled even better then they tasted. The only change I made is that I used a Mexican blend of cheese instead of Parmesan cheese. My almost 9 year old loved them and at 2 smaller sandwiches. I think next time I will add a bit of garlic and green pepper also but that is just a personal preference. Thanks so much for this recipe.

Seasoning For Tacos

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
I tried this recipe a few days ago to make taco salad and I liked it but didn't love it. I didn't add the cayenne pepper because I didn't have any and when I was at the store last they didn't carry it in a small bottle. I like my usual packet of seasoning but this is still pretty good if you don't have any on hand or if you are making a lot of taco meat for a crowd.

Fresh Strawberry Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
This is an amazing recipe. I followed the recipe pretty much as written. The only change I made was I put a layer of sliced strawberries down first then put the crushed on top of them. I only had one problem with this I think I needed a deeper pan because the cake mix overflowed in my oven and made a huge mess. I plan to make this for a a cookout we are having on memorial day. Thank you so much for this amazing cake!!!

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
I have been making Steak and Cheese sandwiches somewhat like this for about 8 years. I like using actual steak not the super thin steak umms. I followed the recipe pretty much I did add mushrooms because I love them on steak sandwiches. I only made 3 because that is all I needed. I will make these again with the garlic mayo which really made these over the top great!! My step daughter wants to try the garlic mayo on a hot ham and cheese for lunch one day soon. She really loved the mayo also.
