Seafood Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2011
I tried this recipe because my local grocery store sell what they call key west crab pasta salad and my family loves it. I figured this was the same but it's not. We really didn't care for this all that much the first day I made it but it actually got better the next 2 days we ate it! I did make a few changes first I left out the peas but I did add broccoli instead and i also add a sweet onion chopped up. I didn't have white vinegar so I used apple cidar vinegar. I also added a tiny bit of lemon jusice just for a little bit of citrus flavor. Im still not sure how the store makes thier "sauce" for their recipe but I guess I will stick to this recipe and just make it a day or 2 ahead of time!!

Rigatoni with Italian Chicken

Reviewed: May 28, 2011
I wanna start off by saying how much my family loved this dish!!!! My 2 year old has now ate the leftovers for lunch and dinner for the last two days since I made this!! I did make a few minor changes. First I only had 4 chicken breast so I used what I had. The next change I made was I diced the chciken up and seasond it with Salt, pepper, garlic and onion powders. I then marinated it for a few hours instead of just 30 mins. I then used 2 14 oz cans of tomatoe sauce with the diced tomatoes. I left the red pepper flakes out because of the kids eating this. I mixed the noodles, chicken, and cheese together to finish it up!!! I will say it really needed the 6 chicken breast because the kids were asking for more chicken and now we really just have noodles left over and no more chicken!!

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
I have never had or made eggplant parmesan so this was a good first time recipe. I didn't care for the taste of the eggplant but my hubby and his mother loved it. I used 1 rather large eggplant for this because it was just the 3 of us eating it. I also read the reviews first and found out you should sweat them first and I did that. I think they eggplant needed to be cooked for a bit longer because they were a bit soggy. I served it with a salad and pasta. I gave my hubbys mother the recipe and she plans to make it again.

Southwest White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
This is the first time I've ever had or made White chicken chili and I think it was a great first time recipe. I'm not a fan of beans of any kind so I picked out my beans and gave them to my daughter and she loved them. I really liked the chicken and chili it went together very well. The only things I left out was the green pepper and corn because I didn't have them on hand. Next time I make this I will plan to use them. I also added a bit more water because we like our chili a little more soupy. I also put salt, pepper, and garlic powder on the chicken before cooking it with the onions. I will be making this again.

Broccoli with Rigatoni

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
I absolutly loved this and so did my kids and hubby, but I changed it up a lot with the suggestions of others. When I first added this recipe to my box I thought it sounded so good but then realized it would be bland so I thought of adding chicken then I read a lot of the reviews and ended up changing alot of things. First added chicken cooked it in a bit of oil and added a few seasonings to the chicken, after the chicken was cooked I pulled it out of the pan and put it in with the cooked noodles. I then sauted the garlic with the broccoli and then added a few red pepper flakes, Onion and garlic powder. I melted garlic butter in a pan and poured it over the noodles, chicken and broccoli and then added the cheese then tossed it all together. I then added a bit more cheese to the top! It was great even the next day cold or reheated. My daughter took it for her school lunch cold.

Quick Gnocchi

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
I made this recipe a few weeks ago and it turned out great. It was also the first time I've ever made Gnocchi so I'm not really sure how hard it is to make using real potatoes, but this way was super easy and fast. They tasted just like the ones we buy from the local restuarant! I made 2 batches one with a garlic cream sauce and the other with a marinara sauce. Great recipe I will be making these again soon.

Spoiled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
I really didn't care for this recipe all that much. I will not ever boil my ribs again. Pork needs to be cooked slow and low, I will continue to bake them in the oven. I also had to add a few ingredients to the sauce to make it taste good. I'm sorry we didn't really care to much for this recipe.

Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
I'm giving this recipe 4 stars but I really think as written it's really only 3 stars. I read a bunch of the reviews good and bad ones and decided to double the sauce/ marinade. I also used boneless skinless chicken breast but I cut it into chuncks as I have 2 kids that need it cut up so it's just easier for me to cut it up first. I made the sauce and put the chicken in it then covered and put in the fridge while the oven preheated (because my kid decided to turn the oven off ). I didn't use the lemon zest because of the little one eating it. I wish I would have made either pasta or rice to put it over but the kids wanted mac and cheese so that's what we ate with it. I personally thought it needed something to offset the taste the lemon and dressing. I do plan to use this recipe to experiment with and try and find something to offset the taste and make this a 5 star recipe!

Pizza Stix

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2011
I'm not gonna give this a rating just yet beacuse I used spring roll wrappers instead of egg roll wrappers. When I went to the store to buy the egg roll wrappers they were out so I figured the spring roll ones would be just as good. WRONG!!! Trust me it was so incredibly greasey we couldn't eat them and had to toss them out. I do plan to try these again but using the egg roll wrappers. I just wanted everyone to learn from my mistake.

Bar-B-Que Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
I love love love this recipe!!! I made it a few days ago when I made Barbecue Ribs from this site. The ribs recipe had it's own sauce but I didn't have everything for it and I didn't think the sauce would have fit my familys taste just from reading the ingredients, so I decided to look for a sauce recipe that would fit and I found this one. I'm so so so glad I found this recipe! I worked out great for the ribs, but after I tasted it I thought about how many other things I could use it with also. I think this Bar- B-Que sauce would be awesome with the mini hot dogs that you put in a slow cooker with bbq sauce mmmmmm.... I can't wait to try this recipe with all my ideas!! Thanks!

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
I decided to try this recipe because I've never made ribs by baking them. I really liked the ribs baked in the oven they were not tough at all they were falling off the bone in fact! I didn't make the sauce because I didn't have everything for it so I used Barb-B- Que Sauce recipe from this site. I love the 2 recipes together. This recipe was very easy for me to make with 2 kids running around the house and a fussy 4 month old also. I plan to make these again soon thanks so much!

Slow Cooker Carolina BBQ

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
I would give this 10 stars if I could!!!! It is soooooo good!!!!! I was craving some pulled pork sandwhiches for a few days so I decided I was making them for dinner and the store just so happen to have boneless pork shoulder roast on sale ( I hate touching any meat with bones). I pretty much followed the recipe other then using the boneless roast I added onion powder and garlic salt and I used sea salt because it's what I had on hand. The only other change I made was putting Liquid smoke in with the vineger. I didn't put the cayenne or red pepper in because my little girl was going to be eating it and I didn't want it to spicy for her. I will be making this recipe a lot now. We are having left overs for either luch or dinner or possibly both!

Slow Cooker Chili II

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
I made this for New Years Eve for a family pot luck party. It turned out great. I actually had to make 2 pots of it because my grandfather has a special diet right now and can't have Green peppers, onions, and Salt. I made one pot without them ingredients and it turned out great for him. The second pot I made I left out the celery and added a bit of cummin. I also put the onion green pepper and garlic in the pan while I was browning the ground beef. Oh yeah and I used 1 really big can of Tomato sauce and as we don't really like super thick chili. This is a very good recipe even without all of the ingredients!

Chicken Fajita Melts

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
I decided to try this recipe because my sister gets frozen chicken fajita flat bread melts and loves them. I only made a few changes first I used flat bread not french bread, second I didn't have tom. juice so I just used water and third I used colby jack cheese instead of cheddar. They turned out great. I will make these again.

No Bake Peach Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
This is really good and i don't even like peaches. I made this because I had 6 peaches that were going to go bad if they didn't get used, I didn't want to bake anything because it was 90 some degrees out. I had a few people try it and they loved it. I made my own crust from the website (Graham cracker crust I) They are so good together. The only thing I did differen was I put all of the peaches in the mixture of water, sugar, cornstartch and butter. I didn't have any problems at all with this recipe!!

Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
I love this crust it's good. I made it with the no bake peach pie a few days ago, it's perfect together. I didn't bake it I just put it in the fridge and chilled it for like almost 2 hrs. because I lost track of time. I think next time I will try making it with either chocolate or cinnamon graham crackers! Thanks so much for this recipe.
