Eggless Milkless Butterless Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2014
Made this last night for a cookout tonight. Read through quite a few reviews and used craisins instead of raisins. Made an orange juice glaze (orange juice & confectioners sugar) and hit was a hit!! Will make again and again. Will try some variations since this recipe allows for a lot of leeway. A hit! Thank you Ms. Thurston.

Chicken with Garlic, Basil, and Parsley

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
I read quite a few reviews before trying this recipe. Instead of slicing the garlic, I crushed it and rubbed the chicken then left it on the top. I added 1/2 teaspoon white pepper in addition to the other ingredients. I increased the parsley and basil by a tablespoon and the red pepper flakes by 1/2 teaspoon. The chicken was moist, full of flavor and not overpowered by the spices which I was a bit worried about. This is definitely a keeper.

Chocolate Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I made this pie twice. The first time exactly as the recipe was written. It was good but didn't set up quite as well as I wanted. Still very good. The second time I made it, I used Ghiradelli Semi-Sweet chocolate and after adding all ingredients together, instead of cooking only 90 seconds, I cooked for 3 minutes. When I turned the burner off, I let the mixture "rest" for an additional 2 minutes. When I poured into the pie shell all it had to do was cool completely in the fridge. Add the whipped topping and shavings of the same chocolate and it was great. There wasn't any left. Everyone loved this recipe. Will definitely make this again and again. Thank you.

15-Minute Marinated Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
This was a good recipe. I tried it first exactly as given and it was good but not overly so. I then made it a second time but when I marinated the chicken, I put it into a baggie and sealed and let it set for 15 minutes in the fridge then an additional 10 on the counter before putting it on the grill. The flavor is absorbed more fully in the baggie. It also allows you to rub the chicken together to make sure the marinate has complete coverage. My family liked it better this way. I will continue to make this recipe. Thanks for the new idea.
