Comforting Cube Steaks

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2013
I followed the recipe exactly. Having never cooked any sort of meat with a carbonated beverage before I was unsure of what to expect and I can't say I cared for it to much - it was palatable, but that's about it for me. Hubby and 15 yr old daughter liked it -, but it didn't pass the 8 yr old picky eater test. The meat was sweet and the gravy was thin. I won't make this again, it just wasn't my cup of tea, so to speak.

Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2013
I made this sauce and it is excellent! I doubled the batch and froze the leftovers ( I have already used some of the frozen and it was also excellent - it freezes great!). As a side note - I followed the recipe exactly with the exception that I used all dehydrated veggies when I made this and it came out perfectly. I had to add extra water and simmere it longer (obviously) but it is absolutely delicious. My family and I prefer it over the sauce the my MIL makes and that says A LOT since she is possibly the worlds best cook! Thank you so much for posting this. This is my new 'sketti sauce recipe!

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2011
I made this exactly by the recipe. My family and I agree this is very, very good. The only thing we would do is cut down on the sugar. It's way to sweet.

Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
Fabulous! My 12 year old daughter made this (with supervision of course) exactly to recipe (almost) and it was delicious. She used 6 bonesless skinless chicken breasts and added 2 tablespoons of spicy brown mustard to the yellow mustard and baked as directed. The cooking time was exactly right. The chicken was tender and juicy and simply amazing. This will be one of our regular chicken recipes for now on.

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
This is an absolutely amazing and delicious chili. The only thing I didn't add was the celery because we didn't have any - other than that, it was made just as the recipe call for and it was incredibly wonderful. We doubled the recipe because of the intense cold snap we've been having and it freezes wonderfully. Thank you for submitting this George. This is the only chili recipe that I will use from now on. It just can't be beat.

Southern Fried Catfish

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
The breading was crisp, stayed on the fish and the fish was flaky. The only draw back was it was a bit bland. We were expecting a little more zing with the Old Bay, but it didn't deliver. Being from the South ourselves, we were a bit disappointed.

Hush Puppies I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
These hush puppies are great! The batter does seem a bit loose and we were afraid of using it, but they turned out great! We eventually added a bit more flour and corn meal towards the end - just to see what happened and they weren't nearly as good. Mix as directed. Cook as directed - they are perfect...and taste amazing with the Tartar Sauce I recipe here.

Tartar Sauce I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Absolutely the best tartar sauce ever. My husband, who thinks tartar sauce should be it's own food group, may well leave me to spend more time with this sauce. LOL

Anna's Amazing Easy Pleasy Meatballs over Buttered Noodles

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
After a bit of hesitation, I decided to give this a whirl. The family loved it. To our surprise, it was sweet - not candy sweet, but sweet. It may have been the meatballs I used. I didn't have the Italian flavored meatballs, I used swedish instead. Very good for a change. I won't make this very frequently, but I will make it every once in a while. Thanks for the recipe!!

Pancakes

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
These pancakes were wonderful! I did have to add more flour for consistancy, but they puffed right up and were light and delicious. My whole family agrees they are the best pancakes we've ever had.

Saucy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This was so unbelievably good!! I had run out of Wosh sauce, so substituted half and half of A1 and Soy. I normally don't like porkchops, but devoured these. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is my 3 year old wouldn't touch it.

Nancy's Chicken in Puff Pastry

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
This is fabulous! In addition to stuffing this with chicken I stuffed with mushrooms and onions. It was a great change from the same ol' same ol' chicken dish. However, next time I'll make some rough puff instead of using store bought. My husband is quite a big eater and I went through a box and a half of pastry just for our meal and that's a bit much for our budget these days.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
This was an amazing pizza crust. It's definately thick. It made enough for 2 pizzas for my family and I. If you make just one and are cooking in a pan, definately cook it of for ten minutes first. I'll be making this instead od ordering out for now on.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
This was quite good, but like most people, I made some changes. I used a whole chicken cooked in water (no broth on hand) and debones it after it was done. When I put the chicken in to cook, I added two washed and cut potatoes, a finely cut small onion, carrots and celery. After deboning the chicken, I added a can of cream of mushroom soup, a dash of cumin, a teaspoon of pultry seasoning, and a teaspoon of garlic. I only used one can of biscuits and had considerable trouble trying to sink them a bit so they cooked. It was delicious though and the dumplings were fabulous after they cooked for a couple of hours. I'll do this again.
