Tasteful Tahini Salad Dressing

Good start as is, but all I tasted was vinegar and soy. So, I added a teaspoon of orange zest, a couple of tablespoons of Splenda brown sugar and a dash or two of cayenne. Much better!

Spicy African Yam Soup

WHOA! This was something else. I had no zucchini, but I did toss in some asparagus that I needed to use up. Really satisfying for a meatless soup. I confess, I tossed in some chopped up leftover chicken, too ;) Outstanding. Make it again. And, again. And.....

Amish Friendship Bread I

This variation was bland and dry. The only "modification" I made (if you could even call it that) was adding about 1/2 tsp. extra cinnamon. The bread was a real disappointment. I'm going back to the basic recipe that came with the starter.

Basil Vinaigrette

The roasted garlic is an interesting idea,if you have time. I used raw. The ratio of oil to vinegar is way off; typically 2:1 or 2.5:1 is about right, which is what I had to do...add vinegar.

Peppery Beef Stir-Fry

This is a well-written recipe in terms of timing and prep. For example, I was glad to have the sauce done in advance and ready when I needed it. It's a good foundation for someone who can add a helping of creativity, due to the absence of flavor. My version has extra vegetables, plus onion and ginger, Chinese Five Spice in the sauce and rice cooked in broth.
