Yes. I know its REALLY early to start planning Thanksgiving on July 31 but who can blame me? I LOVE Thanksgiving dinner and decided that tonight would be the night to start experimenting for this year's big turkey day.

I'm almost positive that my family is going down to Texas for Thanksgiving for a week so there isn't a reason for me to stress out about it, right? WRONG! After my sisters, brother, neice, and grandma came to see us, I'm leaning towards the safe side in case someone asks me about what I've made for past Thanksgiving or mock Thanksgiving dinners and if I can make this or that.

Which reminds me, I really need to start baking fruit cobblers because my sisters love that stuff. Not sure why but everytime I'm in Texas they ask me to make some type of fruit cobbler and I always tell them I've never made one because I don't like them. Oh well. I'll start those soon. Until then, here is tonight's Mock Thanksgving Dinner Part I:

Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Turkey
Beyond great. I made a turkey gravy with the drippings.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing
OY! This will be served at every turkey meal from now on along with my original homemade stuffing.

Best Green Bean Casserole
Maybe it was the fresh picked green beans I used or the COMS recipe below but this was AWESOMENESS!

Cream of Mushroom Soup I
Used this recipe to substitute the canned COMS for Best Green Bean Casserole. I really do wonder why it took me so long to try this recipe when the canned stuff is so bad for me.

I say what the hey! Never to early and like you said you don't want to be caught off guard. The fact that you are willing to step out of your comfort zone and make a cobbler b/c you know your Sis likes it, is a really nice thing to do! She will really (I hope!) appreciate it. The menu sounds Delish!

Could the cream of mushroom soup be frozen??? Sounds like it would be better than the canned, but I use it ALOT! THanks!

You're making me hungry - better buy a turkey breat and pop it in the crock pot - we love it that way.

My favorite turkey recipe is called Black Turkey (you can google the recipe)...lots of work, but by far the best I have ever had!
