Textured Vegetable Protein (aka TVP) Woes and whining

My youngest child, a lovely 16 year old, hates me, and I am OK with that. My Mom says if your teenagers hate you, then you must be doing something right! Tofu is the culprit. I was kind enough to make sure all my children inherited my tendency toward food
allergies. We live in area that has only the basics in the grocery departments we have all gotten sick from the foods we have been eating over the past 10 years. Now because we both have extreme meat allergies we have had to cut all meat and dairy from our
diets, which has caused a major uproar in the house. Hum, wonder why??
So watching my sweet darling GAG on Tofu has caused me to get creative, and that brings me to TVP. I found it at a newly opened Health Food store in my little town. They also have "beef style" and "chicken style" flavoring, all organic and natural. Been
sneaking it into some recipes. Some times I can get by with it and some times not. Going to be working out some of the "kinks" and post them. Trying to stay Gluten and Meat free, while still retaining flavor and texture.
