To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2015
I followed the recipe exactly. The batter is stiff like cement mix so all the blueberries smash when you're trying to fold it in. This is one of the few times that trusting a highly rated recipe backfired on me. I won't make it again.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2014
I am disappointed at how this turned out. I trusted the 5 star rating and it failed me this time. I was hoping for a yummy, warm filling and instead it was bland, watery, and boring. Where are the spices? How is there no cinnamon in this recipe? I won't be making this again.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2014
I love this recipe, but I have to double all the spices and then add just a smidge more salt.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
I thought the recipe as-is is too sweet, probably from the baked beans. I made this again, but with canned black beans, instead of the soup, and omitted the baked beans altogether. I added some water to compensate for the bean soup substitution. Oh, I also sub a red, orange, or yellow bell pepper for the green. I seasoned with celery salt and pepper and increased the chili powder. This made the recipe into a hearty, savory dish. Yum!

Slow Cooker Chicken Dinner

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
I thought this was really bland. Definitely needs some doctoring before it would be a hit in our house. I didn't have the time to do that today - I put it in the crock and let it cook til we got home for dinner.

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
This soup is a family favorite! Just a couple tweaks - I use sweet Italian turkey sausage, saute ½ pound of sliced mushrooms with the onion and garlic, double the noodles, and omit the zucchini. As my kids say, "Yum-tastic!"

Chicken Fajita Marinade

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2012
I used this to marinate chicken for quesadillas - it was SO delicious! I didn't have beer, so I just used chicken broth. Tasted great!

Really great chicken recipe. I used fresh tomatoes and minced garlic and left everything else the same. Thanks!

Sensational Sirloin Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
This was the best kabob I have ever had! The marinade for the steak was perfect! I chopped up the mushroom stems and some onion and added it to the marinade to make a reduction to accompany the kabobs - YUM! (Make sure to boil the marinade for a few minutes so its safe to eat!)

Turkey Noodle Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
I really like this recipe! I made it with chicken instead of turkey, added sliced fresh mushrooms, and then followed the recipe exactly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it needs more liquid- its too dry for stew and too wet for a skillet meal. Next time I'll double the broth and soup, add some celery and possibly more frozen veggies. This is a great recipe that you can easily tweak to suit youur tastes!

Country Bean Bake Recipe

I think it would taste better with bacon instead of sausage.
