I love to cook authentic German in honor of my mom who was born in Germany and came to the USA in 1954.

My cooking tragedies
Grilling is difficult for me. I leave it to my hubbie.

Delicious Egg Salad for Sandwiches
This egg salad is so yummy. I made the recipe exactly as noted and it is just like grandma used to make. I have made it a more than a few times and it has become the gold standard. I used Hain mayo because it is non-gmo and tastes like the mayo I ate as a child before all the chemicals took over our foods. This is the BEST egg salad I have ever tasted...........This is delish on home-made toasted bread and it is decadent when used as a dip on crunchy pita chips.

Three Packet Slow Cooker Roast
It is just my hubby and me and this meal was enough for 3 meals. All delish. I stuck to the menu except i did brown the roast in EVOO on both sidesprior to putting in the crock pot. I also used beef broth instead of water like some suggested. We ate the first meal with mashed taters and glazed carrots. The second meal was the next day for lunch on hamburger buns. It was even better the next day. I steamed a couple green peppers and put them on the buns with the shredded beef. Day 3 I used the shredded beef to make roast beef hash with fried onions and potatoes. Amazing yummy all 3 times. A keeper.

Ranch Dressing II
I will never buy bottled dressing again. This simple recipe tastes better than any ranch dressing I have purchased....even those expensive refrigerated versions in the produce section. I had all the ingredients in my cupboard. I used frozen parsley and chives that were in my freezer from last summer that I had harvested from my garden instead of the dried stuff. i also omitted the dill because i did not have it. otherwise, I followed the directions exactly and the dressing came out perfect. I had made wings and chopped the celery and realized I had no ranch. I immediately went to allrecipes and knew I would find a perfect replacement for the bottled stuff and I did. Awesome site. Thanks so much!!!!!!!
