Zucchini Quiche

Reviewed: May 21, 2014
I have made this exactly as written and have used it as a base and subbed different cheeses for the mozzarella and different veggies. My fav is using spinach, bacon and cheddar. The ricotta is a must, it makes it fluffy. I have also used heavy cream instead of half n half. Delicious!

Busy Day Barbeque Brisket

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2013
I followed the recipe on everything except adding the bbq sauce, I kept it out on the side for people to add on top if wanted. I have had trouble in the past with bbq sauce burning or becoming sludge like when cooked too long. I added the worcesteshire to the bottom of the pot and put the rubbed meat on top. I doubled the recipe for Hanukkah and everyone loved it.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2013
Great way to free up oven space on Thanksgiving. I have used this recipe for 2 years now and have found the amount of broth is really best to eyeball it. I start it with 2 cups then check it a couple times throughout cooking and add when needed. Generally use about 2.5-3.5 cups. Only giving 4 stars because I think this recipe as is, is a great base recipe but could use additional ingredients to kick it up to 5 stars. I will try adding sausage and more variety of seasonings next time.

Layered Nacho Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2011
I happened to have all the ingredients on hand and had a last minute get together at my house last night and was really surprised at what a hit this was. A great twist on method of serving up typical taco night dish. I followed the recipe exactly. Super easy. Great flavor. The versatility of this recipe for substituting and adding ingredients makes it easy to customize to taste. Yum!

Pumpkin Crunch Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
Funny experience on this one: We had a couple changes - I used double the amount of pumpkin puree which made it a bit too mushy. Will try it again following the suggested amount. My husband set it on the hood of our car and it fell onto the road upside down! the cover kept it mostly intact but it didn't look too pretty when we arrived to the party. After sharing what happened with the guests (who gave it a thumbs up on taste) it is forever more renamed Pumpkin Roadkill. Lol!

My 5 yr old daughter picked this recipe for her 1st contribution this Thanksgiving. Wow! We followed the recipe with the only mod adding cinnomin tossed with the apples. Thank you!! She was so proud to have this be such a hit. We will enjoy it for many years to come!!!

Ham Bone Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
I cooked this all day in a slow cooker on Christmas eve and everyone loved it. I had to substitute a few ingredients to what was on hand: 3 cans chicken broth, chopped mild green chilies instead of green pepper and stewed tomatoes instead of diced. I also added carrots and celery as suggested by others. This recipe will be a yearly tradition from now on.
