Pizza, most soups, and salsa
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family never really cooked. If we needed to eat for a holiday, we loaded up and went to my grandmother's. Otherwise, it was frozen food, mac-n-cheese, pizza, and Taco Bell. Technically, a kids dream.
My cooking triumphs
I think I finally have the perfect salsa . Perfect for me. It would probably set everyone else's mouth on fire. Still working on perfecting the perfect pizza dough and Beer Cheese Soup.
My cooking tragedies
#1. You don't want to know. The fire department should have been involved though. #2. Despite what your friend says, you can not cook an egg in a microwave. Well, you can but you will be scraping egg off of the ceiling for a week. Not to mention that sonic boom sound the microwave makes when it blows up. #3. I swear, I really thought you could put a glass bowl on a stove to boil water. Shards of glass went flying everywhere. (I did apoligze for the stitches, but technically HE did blow up my microwave.)

Stuffed Jalapenos III
Perfect! The only thing I did different was add just a little bit of dry Hidden Valley Ranch mix to the cream cheese. I think next time I will leave a little bit of the jalapeno seeds in the cream cheese mixture to give it a little more “heat.”

Rosemary Mashed Potatoes and Yams with Garlic and Parmesan
Great dish. I love it, because it’s different than your normal mashed potatoes. I was skeptical to try it, because I hate sweet potatoes, but it turned out great. It wasn’t sweet at all. Next time, I will use more roasted garlic (personal preference).

Perfect Turkey
This is the first time I ever cooked a turkey, so I was very nervous. I did exactly as the recipe instructed, and it turned out great. Everyone loved it. For some reason my turkey didn’t brown, but that was probably a lack of expertise upon my part. Next time, I will triple the carrots. The carrots were so good they almost overshadowed the turkey.
