Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
I was doubtful on this dish, but thought I'd give it a try anyway. I'm glad I did! Even with the several steps to put together, it is very easy to make, even for a person who doesn't cook much. All the ingredients work together for a really great flavor. A must try. With that said, I have to say I'd cut back to using just 2 eggs. The 4 was just to much. Besides that, superb.

Golden Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
It was good, but nothing to jump up and down for. It did have flavor, but not much of one. I had mixed feelings about the potato flakes, but it did work together with the other ingredients. This dish probably won't be fixed again for a real long while.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
It was good regular chili. Not Blue Ribbon chili, but good. I don't think I'd make it again. There are other better chili recipes out there. If you do make it, be sure to use a BIG pot.

Kimberly's Meaty Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
Very good meatloaf that is quick and easy to make. Not the best, but very good. The only part I didn't like, was cutting the onion.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
I was a bit unsure about the mushroom soup mixed with the onion soup mix, but it turned out to be a really good gravy. I set my cooker on low to cook it for 8 (tuned out to be 9) hours. It was very tender roast that had a very good flavor. Although, I think I'd rate the gravy higher than the roast itself. Very simple, yet very tasty.

Easy Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
Very good! Next time I think I'll go a little heavier on the seasoning. Instead of using a lemon I used a tomato, but next time I'll use the lemon. Putting the mixed vegatables in the pan with the fish not only saved on clean up but made them very tender. Very easy to make and very easy to clean up, and all with a great taste.

Ground Beef Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
It was a good sheaperd's pie recipe, but I changed a few things on my own. I cooked the hamburger first then added the onion, basil, etc.. I don't think there was a need for the water to be added either. I was a bit lost on why it needed to be there in the first place. However, it is a must with the cheese on top. I'll make this again, but next time I'm going to add more vegetables in the mix. I think that'd add much more to the taste.

Orange Baked Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
I liked the ham, but not so much the orange juice and honey. I'd do away with the whole cloves too. If I make this again, I'll make my own minor adjustments. I think this recipe can be a good recipe if it is made to your taste.

Chicken Stuff

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
I didn't use the cream of celery soup, because that just didn't seem to go with the recipe. So, I took up some recommendations from the reviews and substituted it with cream of mushroom. I also added a can of frozen mixed vegies. It was a real good dish, which I'll make again. However, I think I'll add another cream of chicken soup since it was close to being a bit dry, but wasn't. With adding the extra can of cream of chicken soup, I might throw in another can of mixed vegies too to even it out. This recipe is one you can experiement with, most sure.

Iowa Pork Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
It was good. Didn't really taste the seasonings, maybe I should have added more, but didn't want to overwhelm it. It was nice and tender with a lot of juice to it. I'd make it again.

Potluck Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
It does take a lot of work putting it together. One would think it'd be easier just to buy a cream of something soup to substitute all that addtional work to make the sauce. However, it was very good once finished.

Delicious Angel Hair in Tomato, Tuna and Olive Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
The only thing I'd do different with this recipe is either double the recipe for the sauce or not make as much Angel Hair. It seemed like there was more pasta than sauce, which I don't like. Either way, the sauce was really good. I'd make it again with the said adjustments.

Sweet and Tangy Slow Cooker Bar-B-Q Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
Had my doubts that this would be enough sauce for the pork chops, but in the end it all worked out well. It was a very good dish which I will make again.

Savory Tater Tot Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
This was good, but I will make adjustments with the recipe. Such as four cups of frozen vegies was a bit much. I think two to two and a half cups would be better for this recipe. And instead of the one can of 19 ounce can of cream of chicken, I will use two 10.5 ounce cans. It's just a couple more ounces, but do believe that will make a big difference. In all though, it was really good.

This was absolutely not good. It was OK, but far from being good. I've made simular dishes like this one, but this one is at the bottom of those prior.

This was good, not great. It could have used more black eyed peas and bacon in it.
