Yesterday marks the beginning of my favorite three months. Even in Texas, where it's still in the 100's I LOVE September, October, and November. I love the colors of fall, I love the leaves, and love the brisk mornings. I love Halloween and The Day of the Dead. I love Turkey Day and all it's traditions. I love the transition from the heat of the summer to the slow cool pace of the changing seasons. Above all I love the food! I love pumpkins and all things pumpkin flavored and pumpkin smelling. My front porch will soon have a huge pile of pumkpins, my garden will be a mess of vines, my home smell of pumpkin candles and mulled wine, and my cupboards will be stocked full of pumpkin puree.

Tis the season! It's the only time of the year that you'll see me at Starbucks getting an iced pumpkin latte and a pumpkin scone.

If anyone has any interesting, unique, or simply delicious pumpkin recipes let me know.

I'm feeling it! I love everything about these next few months in the run up to Christmas. And I had a fat slice of pumpkin bread for breakfast this morning. I don't have a pumpkin recipe for you offhand, but I do recommend very highly the Curried Butternut Squash and Pear Soup on this site. It is Oh-My-God delicious!

I love fall too! And even in TX like you say! :) My fav. things that comes around this time of year are cranberries! However, I love pumpkin too and found a great recipe for pumpkin cranberry cookies! From AR of course (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Cranberry-Pumpkin-Cookies/Detail.aspx), they turn our wonderfully cake-like and moist! Try them! They will not disappoint! :)

I make a native American pumpkin bread recipe (easy peasy: makes 3 loaves, lowfat, mostly whole wheat flour, freezes well!) You can gussy it up with streusel, nuts, or a glaze, but just thawed with a glass of cold milk---yum. As good for breakfast as a night time snack. Pumpkin squares: basically pumpkin custard/cheesecake with a shortbread/nut crust. Tried the flavored lattes once, not my style: think it's the texture, lol.
