Quinoa, Beet, and Arugula Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2012
Colorful, tasty salad! I ran out of quinoa, so used mostly millet. I omitted the salt, and changed the arugula to spinach. We didn't need the cheese! I'll be making this again soon!

Rice Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2012
We didn't care for these. DH said we might have had bad rice flour, so we might try them again. The flavor just did nothing for us!

Chocolate Oatmeal Hermits

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
I used the whole egg, rather than the whites, omitted the salt, and doubled the amount of chips! Because I used whole wheat flour, it didn't surprise me that I didn't need the full amount of oatmeal called for. These are great little cookies!

Ginger Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
With ginger in the name, there ought to have been a definite ginger flavor! This could have used about 3 times the amount of ginger called for. For all the effort, I think I'd prefer to make regular baking powder biscuits!

Easy Salmon Whole Wheat Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2012
This is easy to make pasta salad that has too much dressing. I would have preferred that amount cut in half! The dill and onion flavors compliment the salmon nicely. Because I'm a vegetable lover, I added peas and celery to the cucumbers. Tomatoes make a great garnish!

These easy to make sweet potatoes are a great snack! I'll be making these again soon! If you want an interesting flavor to compliment the potatoes, add a sprinkle of chilotle pepper seasoning!

Tomato and Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2012
I used water instead of chicken broth, and soy milk instead of cow's milk. Instead of pureeing this smooth, I left it chunky, the way my family prefers! This is a "comfort" food. Thanks for the recipe!

No Mayo Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2012
I love the avocado and dill combination! Without sour cream, I used mayonnaise this time. Green onions or chives would have made a nice garnish, but I emphasized the dill, and sprinkled dill seed on top! These were a hit for my family!

Fabulous Fargozas

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
I used whole wheat flour, 1 T honey instead of sugar, and omitted the salt. They taste great! They might taste better with some Italian seasoning, but are great with only rosemary and garlic flavoring! I'll be making these again!

Crab and Pineapple Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
Easy to make! I started with my own pizza dough, then roughly combined the cream cheese and tomato sauce to spread on top, then added the crab. This was a delicious pizza for a special occasion!

Sunshine Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
I changed the sugar to 1 T honey, the baking powder to 1 T, the cream of tartar to 1/2 tsp, the butter to 1/4 cup applesauce and 1/2 cup oil. Due to my modifications, these were like drop biscuits. They spread quite a bit during the baking! I baked these for 15 mins at 400. Great flavor!

Apple Pie Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
Wonderful aroma! I used wheat germ instead of the bran, and because my apples were so big, I chose to omit the applesauce. I also omitted the salt. These were extremely moist, even when fully cooked. But, the taste was great!

Easy meal to make! I eliminated the salt and the oil. I cooked the potatoes at the same time as the lentils to make the dish quickly.

Pumpkin Chipotle Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
Instead of using the peppers in sauce, I used 1/2 tsp. chipotle pepper seasoning, water instead of broth, and used soy milk instead of cow's milk. Once you accustom yourself to the spiciness of the sauce, it is great! I prefer this to a tomato based sauce on homemade noodles!

I eliminated the oil, used water instead of stock, and changed the bulgar to couscous. I added the couscous just 5 minutes before serving. This smelled delicious and tasted great! Thanks for a wonderful recipe!
