Mandarin Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This was really good. I used pork tenderloin as it was on sale at the grocery store and just adjusted cooking time. My husband and children really enjoyed this recipe.

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This is delicious. I fresh squeezed the orange juice and I think that just made it even better. I am glad I made two. One for my family to eat and I froze one for Christmas morning. Very good.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
These were easy to make, my 5 year old son and I baked them together. They are DELICIOUS. I love ginger cookies that are a little stronger and these were wonderful. I will make these again for sure.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
I am not normally a big meatloaf fan but made it for my husband who loves it. I have to say that this tasted very good. I will make this one again as my hubby thought it was great.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
This smells amazing when it is baking. The cake is delicious and versatile, I either top the slices with fresh berries or drizzle some chocolate on the plates to give it a little something extra. I will make this again for sure.

Rich Pasta for the Poor Kitchen

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2008
This was good and I really liked how little time it was prepared in. I followed the other reviewers' suggestions and added some chopped Roma tomatoes, it was easy and tasted great.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
I found this recipe to be just "ok". It was good but missing something. I am not sure what would have made this go from "like" to "love", something with a little spice maybe, to counter all the sweetness.

Banana Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This is a great recipe for a potluck. No one will ever know just how easy it is to make and it always comes out moist and delicious. I have changed the glaze up a few times just to make it different...sometimes I use melted chocolate to lightly drizzle the finished, cooled cake.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This made a nice brownie, the perfect compromise between cakey and fugdey. I spooned the batter into individual muffin cups to make them handy for packing in school lunches instead of baking in a large pan. You need to reduce baking time, however, if you do it this way.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This is great, I never would have thought to make a roast chicken in a crockpot. I elevated it with foil balls as suggested and that really works. I coated the chicken with minced garlic and Tunnel BBQ Spice (from the restaraunt in Windsor Ont) for spices and it turned out wonderful. I followed other suggestions and put the chicken under the broiler briefly before carving to crisp the skin.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
This was very good, it almost has a flavour similar to honey-garlic. My family gobbled it up. I made only two minor changes by doubling the quantities for the marinade and increased the marinating time by about another 20 mins, not likely enough to make much difference but that is just when I got around to cooking the salmon.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
I have used this recipe many many times and it has turned out great each time. The roast always comes out nice and tender. The only thing I change is the amount of "sauce" I put into the crockpot as I find the entire amount covers too much of the roast. I combine the required onion soup mix, cream soup and water in a bowl but pour in only maybe two thirds of it. This one is delicious.
