About this Cook
I'm a high maintenance hippy! :) I love the outdoors! Whether it be sitting in the woods by a campfire or lounging by a pool at a BBQ, it's where my soul thrives. On the flip side, I enjoy high heel shoes, fine wine and Chanel mascara! I'm well rounded and try to be as open minded as possible. I don't want to miss out on anything!
My favorite things to cook
I'm more of a baker. It's like therapy to me. I enjoy the sweet aromas and I can be more creative. Especially with the presentation. I have a knack for sweets because I have such a sweet tooth! I'm broadening my horizons with cooking. I can do the basics, but have a desire to be a more detailed cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember weekends with my Nanee and spending a lot of time in the garden and the kitchen. I was a kid and wanted to be outside climbing trees, but she would put me to work. She loved to cook and would try anything and wanted to share it with me. Knowing what I know now, I wish she were here to teach me more. I find myself in the kitchen many times thinking to myself, "I wonder how Nanee would do this?" Her refrigerator rolls and giblet gravy can never be replaced. She was wonderful.
My cooking triumphs
Cakes, pies, cookies! My first homemade cake was from this website! A strawberry cake for my boyfriend's birthday! It was wonderful... I almost took it away from him. He wasn't worthy! Ha!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list! Although, I have to mention the Captain Crunch chicken tenders. Oh my! Horrible! It sounded like a great idea at the time. I still have friends bring that up... "Cereal and chicken don't go together...". Ha! Good times!

Key Lime Pie VII
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe!!! It has made me a star this summer! I've squeezed so many key limes I'm about to have forearms like Popeye!! :) Everyone has loved this pie!! I, too, used 2 full cans of condensed milk and followed the rest of the recipe exactly. Another helpful hint... If you let the keylimes get to room temperature, it's sooooo much easier to "squeeze" them. Thank you, AnnRichardson for this recipe! Happy Summer everyone!
