Potato Garlic Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
Delicious soup! I made it exactly as stated, except used 4 large potatoes and it turned out excellent! I topped it with bacon and cheese, instead of carrots. I'll definitely be making this again!

Portobello Bellybuttons

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
Great recipe! I only used 9 oz of cheese tortellini and it was the perfect amount for the sauce. I didn't have any white wine, so I used chicken broth instead and used all baby bella mushrooms. Instead of dried basil, I used fresh. Overall, delicious recipe, but warning you will get full super quickly off of just a little amount! I'll definitely be making this again!

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2012
Great recipe! I only put in half the amount of red pepper flakes and no hot sauce and it was plenty of spiciness for me (I like things mild and not very spicy). Doubled the recipe and it made 30+ meatballs. I put the majority of them in single serving Tupperware containers with World's Best Pasta Sauce (from this site) for quick and easy dinners. Thank you for the great recipe!

Emily's Strawberry Balsamic Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
Great recipe! I didn't have any shallots, but this dressing is incredible! I was lazy and just put all the ingredients for the dressing in a Tupperware container and shook it up really good and it emulsified pretty good. Some leftover chicken would be great on top of this too! Thank you for a great recipe, Emily!

Absolutely the BEST Rich and Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing Ever!

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
I made this dressing and let it sit overnight in the fridge. It was a yummy blue cheese dressing, but it wasn't as thick as I wanted it (or should) be. I would say it was only about half as thick as it should be. Also, all the blue cheese was clumped together on the bottom. I didn't have any buttermilk, so I just added the white wine vinegar to 3 TBS of milk and let it sit for a few minutes. I also added 1/4 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce for a little something extra. If the dressing was thicker, then this would be a delicious 5 star recipe! I do plan to make it again to try and get it to a thicker consistency.

Easy Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
Great and light wheat bread! I did not use the powered egg (didn't have any on hand). I think it might have been my bread machine, but the ends of the bread were kind of crunchy. Overall, yummy bread and I will definitely make this again!

Marinated Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
Delicious pork chops! Personally, I have never really been a fan of pork chops; I'm more of a chicken gal, but these pork chops ended up tasting like chicken! Yum! I scaled the recipe down to 3 for the marinade, but still used 6 pork chops. Then I cut the oil down to 1/4 cup. I marinated the pork chops for about 7-8 hours. Even with all the little cutbacks, there was plenty of marinade for the pork chops! I also baked mine at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. They came out juicy and so good! I would definitely try using this marinade on chicken!

Classic Fried Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
I found that it smelled deliciously while it was cooking, but it was lacking in flavor. I followed this recipe almost exactly (didn't have any bacon on hand) and added chicken. It needed something else; I'm not sure what could be added to make it better. But I will try a different fried rice recipe before I make this again.

Pasta/Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
Great pizza sauce! As other reviewers stated, I did not add 2 teaspoons of sugar, more like 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. I didn't have any red wine on hand, but the sauce was delicious without it! The cheese thickens the sauce and really brings it together. This is definitely going to be my pizza sauce to go to now and I will never buy jarred pizza sauce again!

Chicken Fajita Marinade

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
This was a really good marinade for chicken, but it was a little to lime-y for my tastes. I would suggest halving the amount of lime. I let my marinade for ~10 hours. I sauteed onions, green bell peppers and the chicken in a skillet (like other people said they did in other reviews), but it wasn't really like fajitas that you get at Mexican restaurants. Overall, good marinade for chicken.

Salmon with Creamy Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
DELICIOUS! I didn't added horseradish to the sauce bc I didn't have any on hand, but the sauce is to die for! I even used fat free sour cream and light miracle whip and the sauce was still amazingly good! I did not broil the salmon, but baked it wrapped in foil for 20 mins at 400 degrees and it was PERFECT! I loved how the onions got tender. I served this with roasted asparagus topped with parmesan cheese. I will definitely be making this again soon! :)

Garlic and Herb Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
Good recipe. I replaced balsamic vinegar with the water. I'm not sure why other people said their's tasted like oil; mine did not and was very moist and tender. I didn't have any poultry seasoning on hand, but used all the other spices. Chicken was tender and yummy.

Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
Excellent fudge! The first time I made it, it turned out so good and rich! The second time I made it, it didn't turn out that good. I realized that you need to use FRESH ingredients and NOT off-brand peanut butter. Very easy recipe to follow and its so rich, but so so yummy!

Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
Excellent pasta salad! I didn't have any of the meats on hand, but I cubed mozzarella cheese and tossed it in there. After 2 days in the fridge, my sister was still raving about it. Next time I will definitely add the meats! I didn't use all the dressing and ended up using the leftover dressing to marinate chicken breasts and threw them on the grill. They were delicious!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
Excellent recipe and soooo delicious! I scaled it back to one serving and it made enough for at least 2 people! I used Land O'Lakes Light Butter, a store brand (Publix) light cream cheese, fat free milk and Kraft (green bottle) parm cheese, which made it a little healthier. ;) You HAVE to stir constantly or it won't get thick and creamy. Next time I will try grating fresh parm cheese. This was one of the best Alfredo sauces I have ever had and I will definitely be making this again soon!

Mini Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Pretty easy recipe. I used a graham cracker crust (about a whole sleeve of graham crackers with 2Tablespoons of butter and 2 Tablespoons of sugar). I didn't top it with the cherry pie filling, instead I cut up fresh strawberries and put a slice on each one. These freeze really well (without the strawberries)! Just take how ever many you need and I let them sit on the counter for about 5 mins to defrost. Warning: they are so addicting! lol

Pico de Gallo Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
The pico tastes even better than Moe's! I only used 1 lime though and thought it was still good. I will definitely be making these again.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
Very yummy fudge! You have to make sure you keep stirring or the sugar will caramelize on the bottom of the pan (I made that mistake), but even with the mistake, the fudge was incredible! I can't wait to make it again!
