Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

I'm not sure if we're eating the same burger here, but these are nothing to write home about.

Followed recipe closely and couldn't really taste the sauce at all. At least the prep was easy...

Easy Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2012
I thought the recipe was okay. It was definitely easy to prepare, but I just felt like the taste was a bit bland. But in reality, I think most chicken tetrazzini I've tried is...

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2012
Very pleased with the results. Since I had no baking soda on hand, I increased the baking powder 2.5 tsp and I also cut the salt down to 1/4 tsp. Using no salt baking soda tremendously cuts down the salt intake on this recipe. *Update 1* You can substitute egg whites in this recipe just fine. This drops the overall cholesterol to 65mg which is a lot nicer than 275mg a batch. * I aim to see how low I can drop the salt and butter next time.

Amazing Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Reviewed: May 31, 2012
*Update* After making this crust twice, I have to say that it just tastes to much like bread. With this in mind, I have to knock the rating down to 3. Very good recipe. I followed the ingredients of the recipe pretty closely, but not the directions. On the third paragraph ("When the dough is doubled..."), instead of letting it rise for 45 minutes, I just covered it with some foil and let it sit in my fridge overnight. Afterwards, I pulled it out and let it warm up for about 2 hours. I then put some AP flour on my pizza pan (12-14") and threw my dough on top of it. From there, I smoothed it out until the pan was pretty well covered with dough, put my toppings on, and then cooked it at 375F for between 11-16 minutes.

Homemade Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
Good syrup. On it's own I found the syrup to be meh, but once it's added to something, it tastes really great.

Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
I'm in the same boat with Navy_Mommy. The batter just simply wouldn't cook all the way through and it left me with a pancake that has an entirely to gooey center. Elements of this recipe aren't a complete loss though. If you omit the yogurt as well as the blueberries and increase the nutmeg and cinnamon to between 1/4 and 1/2 tsp it's actually pretty good.

Butterscotch Oatmeal

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Very easy to do and tastes just great. I thought I messed up since I mixed the butter in as it cooked rather than AFTER it finished, and it still came out really good.

Waffles II

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
Simplicity really IS key. I wanted a recipe that didn't rely on large amounts of butter like the one I've always had, and seeing as this got good reviews, I tried it. I scaled it down to a 2 serving recipe and added all but the salt and it turned out great! This will definitely be a keeper from now on....

Baked Potato

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
It's possibly the simplest recipe on the website, but none of that matters. It produces a great tasting potato that can't be matched by microwave cooking. So, great recipe.

French Toast Casserole

It wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't worth all the work either. Especially since it tasted no different from normal french toast.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
The maple syrup mixture didn't really add much if any flavor to the fish. It might've tasted better if I added more seasoning to it, but I don't think I'll test that theory.

The taste doesn't exactly stand out when I cook them and I also don't like how smoky they make my kitchen.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Well, I thought it tasted like a pretty standard turkey burger. That is to say that it was nothing overly terrible, but at the same time, it wasn't to good either.

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
This was great! I'm a bit of a starter cook when it comes to foods outside breakfast, so I like stuff like this. It really was amazingly simple to make and I love even more how it's a recipe that doesn't need to be referred to every time the dish is made.
