Sweetened Condensed Milk

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
Wow! I was a little worried after read some of the reviews, but I can honestly say I will NEVER buy canned SCM again! Not only is this such an easy recipe, but it tastes SO much better than the canned stuff! I did add 1/2 tsp of vanilla and I put the liquid ingredients in my mini blender before the dry ones, because several reiviews said that would be helpful! It turned out to be the perfect consistancy and tasted amazing! Some people said theirs turned out gritty from the powdered milk, but I think it depends on the brand of powdered milk you use. I have always used the store brand because of the expense, but I recently bought some from www.providentliving.org for my food storage and it was WAY better. It was very refined and powdered, whereas the store brands did tend to be more granulated. I think it made a huge difference in the way it turned out! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Boyfriend Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2012
WOW!!! The only change I made was to use milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet and I baked in a 9x13 pan! These are the best brownies I think I have ever had! I'll never by box mix again! This is it!!!

Chocolate Marshmallow Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly as written ...slowly adding half & half. The flavor was great but it would not fluff up.....just oozed off my cupcakes. I only added 1 1/2 T of the half & half and it was still runny. Nobody seemed to care though and they devoured the cupcakes. I would have just preferred the frosting to be thicker. I would try again and make a few change cause the taste was totally there!

Caramel Apple Pie II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
This was AWESOME! I made 3 in one weekend cause I wanted all my friends to try it! I tried it with both regular caramels and also the caramel dip. Both tasted great but the dip was smoother...especially after it was refrigerated. I have made with a crumb topping too and it was also delish!!! Thanks for sharing.

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
I tried this because I had all the ingrediants on hand. It turned out very YUMMY! I liked that it wasn't completely breaded. I always feel like the bottom gets soggy, and texture is big for me, so this was great! The top was breaded and crispy just the way chicken cordon blue should be in my opinion. Next time I might try it with provavlone as other suggested cause my kids aren't big fans of swiss! Thanks for sharing...this is a keeper!!!!

Quick Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
This was a great base recipe. I followed it exactly before added anything, but it was a little bland for my taste. I added more minced garlic, onion powder, oregano, basil, salt and sugar. I threw in some ground beef and it was pretty tasty. Thanks!!!

Fluffy Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
I would actually give it a 3 1/2...I did use half butter and half shortening as others suggested, but other than that I followed to a T! They were easy to make, and super fluffy, but they still tasted too much like baking powder. With butter and jam they tasted good, but I will think keep looking!

Stuffed Shells I

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
I usually don't like stuffed shells but I thought it might be because they were always stuffed with so much meat. I found this recipe and now I am in LOVE! They were so good! The only change I made was to mix 2 C small curd and 2 C large curd. I used one full fat and one 2%....it turned out GREAT! I also added about 1/2 lbs of ground turkey to my sauce. I will never use another recipe!

Beer Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
These turned out great! We don't drink alcohol, but I had another recipe that called for a can of beer...the only single beer I could find at the store was a 24oz, so I ended up with half of that left. I'm SO glad I had some leftover because I got make these rolls! Everyone loved them!

These were so good! Worth all the time it took to make! I stuffed them witha creme cheese filling I found on allrecipes (strawberry crepes recipe) and topped with fresh strawberries that I cut amd mixed with with sugar! My 6 year old fell in love and I finally had to tell her she couldn't have anymore because I was afraid she would get a tummy ache! LOL

Hash Brown Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
This was quite tasty! I did have to bake the hashbrowns for about 40 min. to get them to brown but it was worth the wait! Way better than a traditional quiche crust! I added 5 eggs and 1 cup of milk as others suggested and it was soooo good!!! Will make again!

Kentucky Hot Brown

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
I was born and raised in KY and have always been a fan of the hot brown! This recipes was very good! The only thing I changed was I used 1 1/2 C shredded cheddar and 1/2C shredded parmesan(I have always had them with a cheddar sauce)! I also omitted the mushrooms because we don't use them back home on hot browns! Over all I thought it was very close to the original! Thanks!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
These were very tender! I used butter instead of shortening and it gave them great flavor. I also only used 2 1/2 tsp of baking powder and 3/4 c. of milk. I didn't roll them out. I just formed biscuits by hand and they turned out very nicely!
