Grilled Marinated Shrimp

This was fantastic. Even my 4 year old finished her plate and asked for more! She does like spicy foods for a kid, though. We didn't have tomato paste so we used double the tomato sauce. It turned out wonderfully. Like other reviewers suggested, we had angel hair on the side with the leftover marinade. My husband thought it was a bit oily, but we agreed that it probably wasn't any more oily than a good restaurant's oil-based sauce. Thanks for sharing a great meal!

Fantastic recipe. Even the kids liked it (they do have good palates though). I served it with the "mango salsa" with black beans added on tostadas. Very nice meal together.

The Devil's Own Deviled Eggs

Delicious but I left out the jalapeno because we didn't have any. The 1/4 habanero I used was plenty. The little fiery bits are the perfect kick. EDITED 1/15/09: I am addicted now and buy eggs just to make this. I don't even share. I am using more and more habanero each time and tried a little jalapeno this time.

Zucchini Risotto

Yum. I added extra veggies like carrots and extra zucchini and forgot about the thyme until it was too late. Parmesan was best on it, but I had some Monterrey Jack and that was good too. We ate it up.

It was sweet and spicy, but not enough of either. I'll make it again, but will increase the ingredients and use a different fish. That fishy taste is just too strong for me.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

I had a lone sweet potato that I added along with the other 2 russets that were in the pantry. The sweet potato was fabulous as it added a new dimension to the flavor. Other than that and using extra fresh garlic, I didn't change anything. The recipe was wonderful.

Chicken Fried Chicken

I added a variety of crackers (saltines, Melba wheat and Wasa whole grain) as well as extra seasonings. I baked the chicken and doused with butter the last 10 minutes of baking. It still wasn't flavorful enough. Next time I'll put on a ton of seasoned salt (I used cajun). I would give it 3 1/2 stars if possible, but not quite 4.
