Country Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
Best Sausage Gravy I ever had! I found this recipe when I was searching for something to make with the fresh sage & thyme I've grown. It's amazing! I follow the recipe to a "T"! I find it easier if I do all the prep work like slicing onion, peppers and herbs ahead of time and have ready to go one the cooking begins. This Yankee sure appreciates the ease of this gravy and my Southern husband LOVES it! I just got finished making it as requested for his Father's Day Breakfast!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
I've been searching for a special crisp recipe for a while...I will look no further! This crisp was AMAZING! Only additions were a pinch of nutmeg to the syrup and some Apple Sprinkle (Pampered Chef) on the top. I think it would be a bit thin in a 9x13 so I used my round baker (also P. Chef) but a 9x9 would be fine too. We did not find it too sweet at all. I used Granny Smith apples and hubby said it was a delicious contrast.

Cherry Pretzel Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
This recipe is a winner! I've been searching for it for ages... it was a childhood favorite. And just a tip cause I bothered to measure... a 12oz. tub of cool whip is about 4 cups. YUM!!

Irish Potato Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
I made this for St. Patty's Day and everyone at work LOVED it! It's a dense, rich almost bread-like cake. Thanks for a wonderful recipe! (I just added a milk & confectioners sugar glaze with green food coloring to be festive!)

Portobello Penne Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
AWESOME! Have been thinking of going Vegetarian so was doing a bit of recipe research and decided to try this one on my "meat & potatoes" guys. They LOVED it! Little guy didn't even mind that there were mushroom. Husband said "That's a keeper!" And he actually hates spinach... this one is going into the regular rotation! I followed the recipe to the letter and made no alterations.

Filipino Lumpia

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Fantastic Recipe! Thank you! It was my first attempt making Lumpia and this recipe was fab. I substituted sausage for mince meat as a personal preference an it was a wonderful flavor. Burned my tongue eating these cause I couldn't wait for them to cool!

Chocolate Cherry Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
I make cakes for a local cafe and this gets rave reviews! I haven't made the frosting from this recipe. Shamed to say I just use the canned. I tend to put a nice raspberry jam filling in between the layers and call it Black Forest Cake!

AMAZING! SIMPLE! NO FAT!! I can't thank you enough... I will now keep these ingredients in my pantry for all eternity. I didn't bother with the whipped cream topping... it's lovely on it's own.

Blueberry Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
It's only 4 stars because I felt the need to make adjustments to the recipe. I read most of the reviews and decided from those suggestions to: A) Use 1 1/2 cups of flour B) Use 3/4 cup of milk C) Halve the topping and use 1/3 cup flour and 1/3 a cup oats D) Bake in a 9" springform pan. After making these changes, which I don't normally do but the reviews were very convincing, it was GREAT! Texture was super, quantity was good, taste was excellent! A perfect coffee cake! One note is that I was surprised it still had to bake for the full hour in the springform pan... worth the wait!

Blueberry Crumble

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
Got Rave Reviews! Out of necessity I had to make a couple of changes... I didn't have any blueberry pie filling so I used cherry. 1 can didn't seem like enough so I used 2. I had to use 1/2 a cup of whatever nuts I had lying around including sunflower, peanut and pecan mix! Didn't quite have enough butter so I substituted a couple of Tbsp worth of butter-flavored shortening to make up the difference. I LOVE RECIPES THAT ARE FORGIVING! This still turned out great.

Apple Cake III

I got rave reviews for this quick-to-make cake! I found that one can of filling was sufficient. I'm not normally a fan of "cake mix" cakes but this was a useful and tasty timesaver!

Fruity Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
A flavorful, light and tasty Bundt! The only change that I made was 1 cup oil and substitute the extra half a cup with applesauce. I really liked the touch of coconut "powder" used to grease the pan! I had no trouble getting this cake out of the pan. Delish!!
