Easy Hamantaschen
My friends and I decided to make these for purim. I didn't have a chance to read reviewer comments, so we made it exactly as directed in the recipe. The dough we ended up with was way too sticky to roll out. We had to add a lot more flour to deal with that. This effected the flavor of the dough... it was bland. They also took forever to bake in the oven- I'm not sure if that was because of the extra flour or what. They weren't horrible- they were OK. Which is why I still gave the recipe 3 stars. But instead of making changes to the recipe, I think I'll just find another, better one.

Sweet Potato Pecan Pie
I have been making this pie for years, at least five. My dad asked for it on Thanksgiving after eating a version of it in New Orleans. This is now the go-to pie for Thanksgiving, everyone's favorite for years, and is always gone quickly. My dad always asks for it on his birthday, too. My sister can't eat dairy, and keeps begging me to find a way to make it without dairy because it's her favorite and she cant eat it anymore. It's fantastic. I make this pie without the whipped cream.

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie
I first made this pie for my six male roommates as a tester for thanksgiving 2008. They DEVOURED it quickly (I dont think it made it past that night), and asked for more. At Thanksgiving, we had a large group over for dinner, and everyone fought to have a piece of this. It is now the pie that both my family and roommates ask for when they know I'm baking. I made a few changes based on suggestions: used Kahlua instead of bourbon, and layered the chocolate on the bottom of the pie instead of mixing it in.
