Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
This is a wonderful blondie! Often I find that blondies turn out too dry, these were great! I doubled the recipe, and it turned out perfect!

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
This was a really good recipe. I made the beef in the slow cooker, and then placed on french bread and topped with provolone cheese. I put the sandwiches in the oven, and melted the cheese. The Au Jus was delish!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
This recipe was really great. I made it in the slow cooker. I did use a taco seasoning recipe from this site (Uncle Bill's, I believe). Very delicious!

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
My husband really enjoyed these cookies, I thought they were good-not great. I did have a little oopsie, imagine with 3 kids in the kitchen having that happen:) Somehow, I had in my brain that I needed to use 1 c. butter. I didn't realize until after I already had it partially mixed that it was only 1/2 cup. I was nervous that the cookies would be a total disaster. They weren't they did spread obviously, but no so much that they were ruined. I used chocolate cake mix, and added Andes mint chips. My husband wants me to accidently use 1 c. butter every time. I would like to try it with just one (save as much as we can on calories and our arteries)!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
This bread was fantastic, it does taste just like Macaroni Grill! I made this by hand, b/c I don't have a bread machine. I dissolved the yeast in 1 c. warm water, and let sit for 10 minutes. I then added the rest of the ingredients and used the dough hook on my stand mixer to knead the dough. I did have to add an extra 1/2 c. flour, because the dough was too wet looking. I also brushed with olive oil, and sprinkled with coarse salt. My husband dipped his in a olive oil, parmesan cheese, pepper mixture. It turned out great! Thank you for a great recipe!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
This was really delicious! Far superior then many restaurant varieties. I used 6 cups of broth, rather than 4 broth-2 water. I also used 4 chicken breasts, that I sauteed with onion and garlic. I also used milk in place of the cream, to save on some calories. Thank you for a great recipe.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
This recipe was good. I did make some adjustments after reading the reviews. I did sear the tenderloins in the pan before putting into the oven. I topped with onions only, and I used 1-1/2 c. beef broth, and 1/2 c. red wine. Everything turned out really good. I liked the sauce, the pork itself was very tender it could have used a touch more flavor. The sauce, which could have been a gravy (I should have thickened it) was delicious over the meat, and mashed potatoes.

Italian Peas

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
This was really great. I am not a fan of frozen peas, but after reading the reviews...I figured this was a safe bet. Turned out great! The only thing I changed was I used a Tbsp. of beef broth (since I already had an open container).

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
This was a really good recipe. I read the reviews, and I did increase the sugar to 1 cup. I think it would have been fine with the original amount. I also melted butter, and honey and brushed over the top-once the bread was done cooking. This was really great. My husband took some of the leftovers to work, and one man said it was the best cornbread he had ever tasted. What a compliment! Thank you for a great recipe.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
This recipe was delicious, and very flavorful! I made a few adjustments after reading the comments. I used chicken broth instead of water, I doubled the cayenne, used Oregano in place of Sage, tripled the Cajun seasoning, and added some Bourbon St. Seasoning in addition. My husband and I really enjoyed this, thank you!

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

I have been using the same white chicken chili recipe that I have been using for a long time. My husband really enjoyed it, and I just wanted to try something new. I have found my new favorite white chicken chili, this is phenomenal! It's also easier than my previous recipe, and my husband says he likes it a little better!

Carla's Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
Everyone really enjoyed this dip. I did go with the recommendations and used 8 oz cream cheese. I think next time I will go with 4 or 6 oz. I typically don't have an issue with cream cheese, but I felt that the marshmallow cream flavor was covered by cream cheese.
