Whole Wheat Biscuits

Man these were great for what I used them for. I used the dough to wrap nitrate free hotdogs in for the kids...I really liked using the whole wheat and all purpose together. They came out slightly sweet so if you don't want that I would leave out the sugar. But they made great piggys in blankets! kids LOVED them and so did I!

Taco Seasoning II

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
this was really good....the ony thing is I would double or tripple the batch to make to have on hand for a good while. the only thing is you might have to go buy more spices cuz it uses them all up! but its worth it, I can't believe the unhealthy things they put in the packets you buy at the store...MSG being one of the main ones...and hydrogenated oils too...why would they need to put all that?? So much better for your family this way with no cancer risks!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
Waaay too salty!!! I made it with chicken broth instead of water but still way to salty, next time I will use just a tiny bit of salt and still with chicken broth probably...other than that they were pretty good....I ended up making a bunch of nacho cheese dip with them.

Lola's Horchata

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I had to really change this recipe to fit my taste...This one is way too watery and the cinnamon did not mix well..from now on I will always use cinnamon sticks to soak in the rice water. Also it doesn't even make enough to fill a pitcher, so I added like 3 times the milk (because I like it thick)and also very important...I ground the rice a LOT because I like it a little gritty....it just depends how you like your horchata...I like mine rich and thick....if you do too add more milk and ground the rice a lot and it will turn out good...you can still use 1 cup of rice to start off with and adding more milk makes it soo good!
