About this Cook
I have been married since 2000. I have 2 daughters, aged 4 and 6.5mths. I am a recent Stay at home mom, who is learning to cook things that take more than a couple of minutes to put together.
My favorite things to cook
Chinese food. I have found a new love for cooking that. I recently got a Wok, and can't put it down.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't really have any family cooking traditions; however, am now creating some with my 4 year old.
My cooking triumphs
I made brownies from scratch. Having always bought the box mix, I checked one of the recipes here, and found that I had all the ingredients. I made them, and they were AWESOME!
My cooking tragedies
Sauces! I am horrible, absolutely HORRIBLE at making sauces.

Lemon Lover's Pound Cake
This is the1st time I have ever made a cake that wasn't from a box mix. I can honestly say that although it was time consuming (I am used to drop, mix and pour) this was the best tasting cake I have ever made! The crisp flavor of the lemon and the icing really complimented the cake w/o it being too sweet! My hubby is not a fan of cake, but he tried a nibble, and took away a hunk of it! Great recipe! And now my go to summer dessert!

Corn Dogs
I have never made corn dogs before, and this recipe was so easy and utilized everything that I had on hand. Took other reviewers advice and dried the hot dogs well before dipping in the batter that I refrigerated for 30 min. My husband, who was skeptical when he saw that I was making them said that they are better than the ones at the fair!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
This was the best apple pie I have ever made! I did add a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon to the sugar mixture, as well as replaced the water with apple juice. I also reserved a 1/4 cup of the sugar mixture to brush on top of the lattice crust. It gave the lattice a nice crunchy sweet texture. Will most definitelyl make this again and again!
