Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust
Super yummy pie crust. I had reservations about trying this recipe because of the sugar. I wanted a neutral pie crust that could be used in either sweet or savory pies. Based upon another review, I decided to try this one on a chicken pot pie. It was fabulous and no one noticed the sweetness (I did use a bit less than 3T of sugar). My "shortening" was a combination of coconut oil and butter.

Chicken Pot Pie IX
This recipe was wonderful and forgiving. I made it with the vegetables I had on hand - cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms. My onions were rehydrated dried onions. Instead of cooking the veggies and chicken in water, I used chicken broth. Later, I strained that into a bowl and saved it for use in the filling. My pie crusts were made using the "Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust" recipe here on Allrecipes. I'm allergic to peas, so the only way to get a good pot pie is to make it myself. This was so easy to follow, I made it twice this week. Honestly, it's the best pot pie I have had. My family agreed. Thanks for a wonderful recipe. Edit: Made it again for Pi Day of this century - 3.1415. Ate it with my son at 9:26pm (and 53 seconds!).

Delicious Southern Cornbread
This was just like my Mom's cornbread. Unfortunately, it never occurred to me to learn her recipe. After she passed away, I thought I would never have any like it again. Perfect texture and flavor. Thanks for helping me recreate a happy memory to share with my family.
