I'm 14 and I love to cook just to put my time into something that looks and tastes great. My Grandma was an amazing cook who passed on her love to her Aunt who passed it on to me. I'm just a beginner but I love it and I soon hope to be as amazing as my Grandma.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake mostly. I like working with meat- especially chicken or ham because you can do so many different things with them. I also love making Italian food- just blending all those flavors that smell delicious, look delicious, and especially taste delicious is what I love to do.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas we have a homemade honey baked ham. I LOVE it! Also on Thanksgiving my Grandma used to make this amazing cranberry and orange relish that she hand ground- it was amazing.
My cooking triumphs
Well all of the recipes I have gotten off this website have been delicious and have instantly become family favorites. I try to be super careful about what i choose to make in the kitchen- I always read the reviews for tips and make sure the ratings are high.
My cooking tragedies
Chocolate Pie- I quadrupled the recipe and attempted to make it- I ended up with a ruined pan and lumps of sugar plastic in lukewarm milk with unsweetened chocolate pieces floating about inside.

Pineapple Orange Sorbet
This recipe is absolutely amazing! It's just the right texture and has the best taste with no funky after-taste like a lot of other sorbets. You don't necessarily HAVE to use pineapple tidbits- you can use any kind- we used rings and it turned out fine. Very good- if you are in doubt about making- MAKE IT because it is sooooo easy and sooooooooooooo good!

Vanilla Crepes
This was my first time eating and making crepes. So I guess my review comes from somewhat a picky eater perspective- I personally thought that the crepes were kind of flavorless. I made a strawberry compote and topped with whipped cream. I didn't much care for them but my family raved over them- My mom said they reminded her of the ones her mother used to make so I guess that's good because my grandma was a gourmet chef! overall they were quite good- I just personally don't prefer crepes after growing up with my grandpa's German french toast (very flavorful) I grew up with very strong tasting foods so this was just a bit bland but everyone else liked it so it was pretty good.

Ham and Pineapple Kabobs
This is a really great tasting food. I was somewhat hesitant to put the glaze on but i generously dosed it on and boy was it good! it tastes exactly like the honey glaze on honey baked hams believe it or not. However, the food itself was somewhat plain- like it needed something more on the kabob to make it finished- it just didn't seem like it was finished. Good served with seasoned wild rice.
