About this Cook
I'm originally from Memphis, Tennessee, but now I live in San Francisco. I am married and have a 6 year old daughter. I teach dance to children age 2 through 10. Before marriage, I used to fix boring bachelorette meals but now I enjoy making tasty meals that my family enjoys. I love fresh vegetables, fish, wine, and good bread.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! My favorite things to bake are biscuits, scones, pies, and muffins.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom has this recipe for butterscotch chip cookies that are to die for. Except that only she can make them the best. Even if you follow her recipe, they still don't turn out as good as when she makes them. They're still pretty darn good though.
My cooking triumphs
My biscuits are by far the best biscuits in the entire world. I love it when I take them out of the oven and everyone around goes, "OOH!"
My cooking tragedies
hm, lets see. Once when I was first married I made some fish that was so salty it was inedible. My husband ate some to be polite but I could tell he was barely choking it down. :(

Triple Berry Crisp
Yummy! I only used blackberries (a combination of wild plus a few store bought ones) but other than that I followed the recipe exactly and it was delicious hot out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Macaroons
Yum! I made these for a Passover Seder and they were a hit! I cut the sugar in half, and I melted some dark chocolate chips, and dipped the cooled macaroons in the chocolate. I will definitely make these again!

Grampa's Coriander Turkey Sausage
Hooray for Grampa! I make this now so often I have the recipe memorized. I use it for turkey burgers. A great addition is to chop some fresh basil and mix that up in there too. And, yes, it still tastes great if you cook it and eat it right away!
