Banana Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2013
I have made this many times, and it is great. I always get requests for the recipe. It's one of those recipes where I always have the ingredients on hand. So moist!

Simmered Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
This recipe is awesome. I have made it several times, and I love it. The steak is tender, and the sauce is awesome. I wasn't sure about the potato flakes, but I think that is what makes it so good. I added more spices, and I have also added green and/or red peppers, and that is good also. My family loves it. *** I also have since made this recipe in the crock pot and in a dutch oven with equally successful results.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
WOW! I was very skeptical about this recipe. How could a recipe with these few ingredients be as good as everyone said? Well, it is! I am going to make this again and again. I always try the recipe the way it's written the first time. The only thing I might try different is a little lemon juice to balance the sugar. My picky daughter-in-law loved these too. I loved them warm, but my husband said they were even better the next day cold. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. It's the bomb!

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
I really liked this recipe just as it is written. I used blackberries, and it capped off our Christmas Eve casual dinner and game night perfectly. I made it after dinner, and it cooked while we had fun. Served it with vanlla ice cream, and it was great. I probably would use more berries next time (husband says a cobbler needs more fruit), bt I loved the taste of the light cake around the berries. Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
I thought this was a great recipe. I made two pans, one for a potluck at work and one for us at home. These were MUCH better the next day. I did everything but bake them, put them in the fridge and baked them the next morning. Everyone wanted the recipe. I loved them.

Cream of Broccoli Soup III

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
This was very good. I like to try the recipe as it's written the first time, but I added three things. I added a T of cornstarch and one cubed red potato, skin and all, with the other veggies to thicken it. I used fat free milk and chicken broth since it didn't say, and I'm trying to keep it light. I also added a sprinkling of montreal steak shake for a little more flavor. I topped it with fat-free mozarella, and it was great. My husband liked it too, so this is a keeper. Thanks for the recipe!

Colombian Stewed Flank

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I absolutely loved this. I simmered for about 2 1/2 hours. I served over Mexican rice. The next day I simmered the leftover steak (I used 6 big steaks) and rice together and served inside steamed tortillas. We liked it even better the 2nd time around. Nice change for steak.

Faux Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
GREAT flavors. I didn't have a chili pepper, so I used some hot chili powder instead. I used 1 T oil instead of 1/3 cup since I wasn't putting it on the grill, and I'm working off those Christmas pounds. I cubed the chicken and seared it in a nonstick pan with Pam. I served it on top of grilled sweet onions, red and yellow peppers and fresh tomatoes. With some brown rice on the side, it was pretty ANd tasty AND healthy. My husband, who prefers not to experiment, even liked it. I only have one regret: that I didn't take a picture to post because it was so pretty.

Stuffed Shells III

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
This was awesome - we just had this for Christmas dinner along with some other Italian dishes, breadsticks and cesar salad. It received rave reviews. It made two pans full. Only change was no mushrooms. I baked one pan for dinner, and all that was left was a little sauce in one end of the pan. I cookied for almost an hour because I made it yesterday and refrigerated overnight so I didn't have to do any work today.

Breadsticks with Parmesan Butter

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2007
I decided to have Italian for Christmas dinner and thought it's be great to have a homemade bread stick. YUM! I am writing this review with one hand because I can't put the warm breadstick down - it is awesome. As usual, I did my own thing - I took the butter and spread it on before I cut them into strips. The flavor is great. They are soft and tender. They will be fabulous with my braciole and stuffed shells. Thanks for the recipe!
