Honey Garlic Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
OMG this was good!! I pretty much followed the recipe exactly, except used garlic powder instead of salt. It came out looking dry and I was so dissappointed I almost threw them out abd ordered chinese food! However, they were Yummy! I am making them again tonight but this time I tripled the sauce and threw them in the slow cooker for 4 hrs, I am hoping this way the meat just falls off the bone! Regardless...the best honey garlic spare ribs EVER!

Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
This was a very good dip, The only change I would make is to replace the garlic salt with powder and not add any salt at all! My guest really enjoyed it, however it was quite salty

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
I really enjoyed this as well, however found it a bit too salty, I think next time I will just use garlic powder instead of salt and omit any salt addition! otherwise for my first time making spinach dip it was good, I followed the recipe exact, except added more spinach and less artichoke

Broccoli Casserole III

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
This will be a 5 star if you try it the way I do it. I used other reviewers suggestions. I used fresh broccoli, (sometimes I add cauliflower too), I steam them (but not too long, remember they are going in the oven to cook more). then I add it into a oven safe pot, add my cubed velveeta cheese, stir together. Add about 1/4 cup melted butter. Stir in about 1/2 cup buttered crushed crackers (I used saltines, cause it is all I had).Topped with shredded cheddar cheese to cover and more cracker crumbs. Not good for the waistline I am sure....But sooooo Yummy. The non-broccoli eaters in my family even had seconds!!!

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
This was good, my husband really enjoyed it...I not so much!! It was okay, I had made some changes. I omited the oignons and cornflakes, I added bacon. I had to let it cook for 1 hr and 10 minutes and this was with half the amount called for!! Will probably make again for my husband!!

Lazy Bruschetta

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
Very simple to make and tasty...Had this with shrimp pasta and ceasar salad... very Yummy!!! Would easily make this for company...Even my picky husband thought it was good. Way too much olive oil mixture...I could have made 100 pieces if I wanted to...No need to use 1 cup of olive oil!!!!

Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
This was better than restaurant pasta...I actually used 2 different recipes and combined them together. The difference I made with this one was: 1)I sautéed the shrimp with minced garlic, 1tsp of basil and 1 tsp of oregano, approx 1 tsp of crushed red peppers and sliced white mushrooms. I removed the shrimp after a couple of minutes (so they would not get rubbery). 2) I added 3 chopped roma tomatoes dices and sautéed that to the mixture of butter, mushrooms and spices. 3)I used 2 cups of heavy cream and parmesan grated cheese...I added shredded cheddar cheese (about 1.5 cups-to help thicken up). 4) At this point the sauce was not as thick as I would have liked it, so I whip an egg and added it to the mixture!!! That did the trick!! I added the shrimp to the sauce about 3 minutes before serving on rotini!!! Wonderful for Valentines dinner. My husband really liked it!! Yummy!!!!!

Firecracker Fried Chicken Drumsticks

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
I give this a 4 star....Overall I enjoyed it...However I kept the skin on the chicken, cause I could not be bothered. I then folowed another review and just coated the chicken bake with shake and bake with added spices, like chili powder and garlic salt, then put them in the oven. They still came out tasting like chicken wings. (However I dont think this is the way they would actually taste if I did as per the actual recipe) I put ranch on the side and served with rice. I probably wont make it this way again...However I will try the actual recipe next time!!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
I rated this a 4 due to all the changes that were made to the recipe. I used other recommendations from other reviews. Although I use a 2-3 lbs whole chicken. I used 2 cans of cream of mshroom soup, and added 2.5 cups of chicken broth. Prior to putting in the dumplings (recipe that I took from another recipe) I had to add another cup of water. This was good, I added potatoes cut in cubed. I did find it a bit salty though. I am not a fan of low sodium canned soup, however next time that is what I am going to use!! I figure with the chicken stalk I used it was just too salty. While the chicken was cooking in the slow cooker I did add some spices as per other reviews and it added just the right taste to the chicken.

Kelsey's Favorite Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
My husband is always very weary on my cooking...As am I!!! That said, He and my mother in law just raved about these. They were absolutly delicious. I had some spaguetti sauce left over in the fridge and decided to use that, I mixed it in with the rice and added salt, pepper and chili powder to taste. Then a handful of mozzarella cheese to the rice as well and stirred it in. I baked them for approx 20 to 25 minutes. I sprinkled cheddar cheese on top of them and baked for 6 minutes. They came out delicious.

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
I followed this recipe pretty much as directed, except for using red wine instead of vinegar!!! It was OKAY, but I guess I expected alot better for the reviews it had. I guess it just was not my taste. It was fairly tangy. It tasted better after a few bites. But I will not use this recipe again!!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
For this recipe, I also used different suggestions from previous reviewers. I used butter and rubbed it all over the chicken and added 3 tsp in the cavity. I filled the cavity with lemon slices, 5 cloves of garlic, slices of oignon, salt and pepper, garlic salt and some sprigs of rosemary. I then put garlic salt (had no powder, salt, pepper, a little bit of thyme and paprika on the outside of the chicken. I then squeezed a little bit of fresh lemon juice over it and cut up small pieces of garlic over it. I really enjoyed the chicken, it was tasty, but I had to cook it approx 45 minutes longer than what was called for. I rated it a 4 only due to the cooking time. Very Yummy Served with Fried rice

Salmon with Creamy Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
This salmon was a great dish. We served it last night for 7 people. We used 3 lbs of salmon...To be honest we could have used more. It was a fabulous dish. we followed the recipe to a T. Except substituted the horsrdish for horseradish paste instead. The dill sauce was very good, however it made way too much for the amount of fish we had. But we will probably use it for raw veggie and chip dip. Thanks for the recipe!!
