Beef Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
Followed the recipe to a T against my better judgment...boy, was I glad I did. No way was I expecting it to make some much of it's own juices. I was scared to put in dry, to be honest. My roast was only 2lbs, so I pulled it out 20 minutes early, but otherwise didn't change a thing. Thanks, this one is a keeper.

Slow Cooker Sweet Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
It smelled great and it was very satisfying in my belly and lasted for a long time, but it was disappointing in that it seemed to be lacking in any truly distinguishing flavour. I was hoping for something a bit more.

Meat-Lover's Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
My 2 year old LOVED this. She asked me in the mornings if she could have some!! My hubby didn't like the chunks of tomatoes, although he liked the flavour, so I may have to fiddle with grinding/ cutting up the stewed tomatoes or just changing them to all diced tomatoes, etc. Also, I had to fish some of my tomatoes back out after putting them in when I realized that the cans were about double the size of the 14.5 oz cans you mention!! I assumed they were the right size without checking....good thing I caught that one!! The sauce did end up being a little watery, so I will drain the tomatoes next time to see if it makes a difference. Wonderful flavour!! Thanks :)

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
I am not a big soup eater, and this didn't really excite me at all by reading it, but it sounded healthy and decently tasty. And I had everything on hand...turns out that it tastes very similar to something I used to eat when I was little :) What a wonderful taste. I wasn't too fond of the stewed tomatoes - taste was good, but the chunks were quite large. I will also admit that I didn't have 2 vegetable broths, so I used one beef and one veggie, but it was still really great. Thanks so much!! Will definitely make it again!!

Microwave Popcorn

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
tried it with olive oil to start and later with nothing, and it really doesn't taste any different so I skipped the oil altogether. My only issue is that regular brown bags don't seem to be big enough. I only use about 1/3 cup of corn and the bag is super full (I used one staple as suggested) and it ends up falling over. Am going to try putting the beg standing up inside a bowl to see if that helps. Still a wonderful recipe :) Thank you!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
I did as others suggested and added a few veggies and put the biscuits across the top. It was wonderful. I only had bisquick, so I used 2 cups bisquick and 2/3 cup milk and made my own "pre-made" biscuit dough. Worked really well. Thanks!

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
turned out pretty good. Removed a lot of juices though. A very hearty lunch and it just left me so satisfied all afternoon :) I had to make it withy kidney beans. The grocer had no idea what cannellini beans were.

the BEST is right :) I added a little extra sugar and vanilla, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. I made them thick and they still only took about 5 minutes in my oven. Sooooo good :) Thank you!

Raspberry Cup Cakes

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
these turned out wonderfully!! I made my topping on the stovetop - melted down the raspberries and added a little cornstarch. Lovely :) The only thing I would change next time would be NOT to pat down the base too hard, because although it tasted good, it formed into a hard shell.

Tin Roof Sundae Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
made this as a summer treat and it was heartily enjoyed :) I took the advice of another reviewer and used Honey bunches of oats because it was all I had on hand. Very yummy. I also crushed up some willowcrisp bars on top (crispy crunch type bars). Yummy! A great compliment to the peanut butter in the base. Thank you.
