About this Cook
My name is Jenn, I am a 21 year old college student. I grew up in northern Illinois and recently moved to Kansas for school. I have a dog Pooper and a cat Dixie.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are brownies on the sweet side and chicken on the savory side. Chicken is such a versatile food it's easy not making the same thing twice. I also love cooking with fruits, pineapple in particular.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Ever year my family makes banana bread for a fall festival in my home town. The tradition started with my Grandpa many years ago. I enjoy seeing the same people year after year stopping by just for some bread.

Tuna Salad with Cranberries
This was a really great way to prepare the same old tuna fish sandwich. The dried cranberries added a sweet and salty taste. I omitted the dill and used rye bread. I also added almonds, which added a necessary crunch.

Butterscotch Oatmeal
Yum! This recipe makes eating oatmeal so much easier. I serve mine with cooked cinnamon apples or peaches. If you don't like your oatmeal too sweet, I suggest cutting back on the brown sugar. After finding this recipe, I will never use instant oatmeal again!

Betty's Sugar Cookies
These cookies are perfect because they are not too sweet but still have a pretty good flavor. Sometimes I add some almond extract and they taste even better!
