Asian Coleslaw

Delicious. I added a bunch of crunchy things like almonds and wonton strips. Also cilantro. I served it with "Asian Barbequed Steak" and "Peanut Butter Noodles"

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
This is the best appetizer! I didn't change a thing. It is great because it kind of has everything in it (cheese, meat, bread, red peppers). It's very attractive, too. People scarf it up.

Easy No-Bake Milk Chocolate SMore Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
Super easy. This was gobbled up (more by the adults than the kids for some reason). One thing I did was chop up a large hershey bar and sprinkle and press the bits on top after I put all the goop into the pan. That way there was guaranteed to be solid chunks of chocolate in everyone's piece (since a lot of the chocolate melts, unlike the marshmallows that you put in at the end). The real hershey bar(s) make it seem extra s'more-y, too. Tastes a lot like a less dense s'more fudge. Delicious.

Corn and Crab Bisque

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
Just served this to a dinner party and everyone LOVED it, even my 3 year old. It has a little kick to it, which was surprising and a great addition. Finding fresh lump crab can be challenging, unfortunately. I got ours in 5 oz tins at Whole Foods and each tin was $13 so this is expensive. One more tip: I used a hand blender and blended up the soup a little extra when it was all together in the pot at the end (but before adding the crab!). I felt like the corn and onion was a little too chunky, and I reduced the chunkiness a bit. Perhaps the best dish I have EVER made.

Coconut Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
Delicious! I agree with others that, aside from the coconut pieces, the cake itself did not taste very coconut-ty, but I thought it was moist and delicious just the same. I made a two layer 9" round cake and only baked it for 24 minutes. Also, I added 1.5 cups of powdered sugar and 2 T butter to the frosting to get a little more and make it more of a cross between cream cheese and buttercream frosting.

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

The sauce is to die for. Adding sauteed sliced mushrooms makes it even better.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

These are very easy and pretty tasty, but nothing very unusual or jaw-dropping in my opinion.

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
So delicious, almost like a bread pudding for breakfast. I quadrupled the recipe and served it for snack to fifty 3-4 year olds. Almost all of them liked it and their parents liked it even more. It feels like you are adding too much of the butter/sugar sauce, but trust the amount the recipe gives!

Hunan Kung Pao

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2012
Delicious! I used coconut oil to fry since I read that is considered healthier (currently) and it was great. I tripled the whole thing. I recommend finding a way to cook the shrimp a bit less than you cook the chicken - it turns out perfectly with just a short time frying and boiling.

Pork Marsala

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
Very delicious! I'm not sure browning the meat made any difference and I probably will skip that next time. The sauces is delicious. I loved it with the sauteed mushrooms.

Crab Rangoon III

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2011
Delicious. It takes awhile to fold them so I'd do it a little bit in advance and cover with a wet paper towel in the meanwhile. Also, as far as dipping: sweet and sour dipping sauce was by far the best one I tried, followed by Chinese mustard.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2011
As good as everyone says. This was completely gobbled up by about 6 people! I actually messed up and broiled it and burnt the top when I cooked it so I had to scrape the top layer off and re-cover it with parmesan. I actually liked it with just parmesan; the top was not a hard shell the way it was when I combined the parmesan with panko crumbs, but this might be because I only cooked it for about 5 mins with the parmesan (maybe adding the cheese on top near the end is a good idea). I definitely recommend using all 4 oz of jalepenos, and I might try more next time.

Jewish Style Sweet and Sour Brisket

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Delicious. It definitely took more around 3.5 hours of simmering to get tender. The vinegar plus sweetness combo in the sauce is perfect.

This was really easy and tasty. I didn't get any oohs or ahhs over it, but people ate it so there's that.

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
I only did two layers (didn't split the separate cakes in two) so I ended up with a lot of frosting left over. The frosting was delicious and I wish I had slathered more of it on.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
I have never been a huge fan of meatloaf when I make it for some reason. This one was probably the best I've made. The flavor was nice, but the texture was a little slimy on the edges and crumbly elsewhere.

I felt like this needed a little bit of milk or cream. I added a cup of half-and-half and I think it helped.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
So delicious and moist. I've made big loaves, mini loaves, normal muffins and mini muffins and all were superb. I double the chocolate chips because I've never thought "gee, there are too many chocolate chips in here" about anything. Also, I sub 1 cup of the white sugar with brown sugar.
