Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
Wonderful. Husband loved it. Kids prefer the bisquick recipe that takes 20 min to make! This does take a bit of time to make. I doubled the recipe and used pillsberry ready made pie crusts. It took 2 boxes of pie crusts because I had to put it in a 9x13 dish. I did bake the bottom layer for about 8 min. I made this early in the day, re- heated it in a 200 oven for 40 min and it was hot and yummy!.

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

yummy and easy. I used the tips for 1100 watt and it turned out great. One batch stayed chewy but I think it was due to not cooking long enough. :)

Stir Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
I just made this and it was amazing! I opted out of the teriyaki sauce because I didn't have any.. but this was still yummy and blended better with the burgers. I did add a bit of salt and its amazing! Make this!

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
this is so a very kid friendly soup. Its cheap to make and quick! I used smoked black pepper bacon from my deli counter at the grocery store. My kids don't even realize they are eating leeks. Only thing that would make it easier is if the recipe called for cups of sliced leeks.. they come in various sizes so its a guess if she means small ones or large ones.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
This is Awesome. Its super kid friendly and I was very fast even though I had to stir fry some diced chicken breast because I didn't have any cooked ready. I added Bell peppers that I stir fried after the chicken and I added 2 garlic cloves that I also stir fried. I am a soy Sauce lover so I increased that as well. My kids loved it and asked for 3rds. Add a salad and you have a whole dinner that's easy and good for you :)

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
Followed the recipe just as written. Amazing. My whole family loved it. I have 4 kids, 14,9,5,3 and they all liked it. Only thing was that they didn't really care for the sun dried tomatoes and picked them off to the side, which made me think to chop them super fine next time so they eat them. I doubled the recipe to serve 8 . Will for sure make it again!

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2012
this is a great frosting that works for cakes.. add more milk for fluffier and less dense frosting. or keep it stiff for piping.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
Great cookies. A all around family favorite! I didn't have orange juice to add instead of the water as some suggested so I used apple juice instead. Turned out great! I also used all butter. I prefer not to put to many chemicals in my food :) So I didn't use the margarine. Oh I also used organic cane sugar instead of the white bleached kind. They came out beautiful!

easy and turned out tasty. I think the key is kneading it well and I used the 8 min guideline.

Apple Crisp II

I downsized the recipe by half with the apple mixture but kept the topping the same.. baked it in a smaller pan. Yum and probably the best recipe I have ever made of apple crisp. Will make again!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
Wonderful, It is does take a bit of time to make these but so worth the effort! I followed the recipe to a "T" and all went well. I had plenty of frosting with some left over. I over baked mine.. I went to get the kids from school and it took longer then I expected. I bake mine at 400 for 20 min.. they are a tad dry so I think that they would have been awesome at just 15! I will watch them closely next time! YUM

Sausage Gravy I

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2008
Just made this for a lazy sunday morning breakfast. Wonderful. I did use the bacon grease. My 2 year old loves bacon so I gave it to her to eat. I made a half batch since it would only be 3 of us eating it. I added more salt and pepper then called for. It was fast and filling! Easy also! I will make this camping this summer.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
Just whipped up a batch and they are so yummy... I added 1/4 more flour like another reviewer suggested and increased the baking soda just a pinch.. They taste wonderful. I did roll these into balls instead of just dropping them on the pan.. Makes the cookies very uniform in size that way.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
This is so yummy. I skipped the oven baking step and just stirred it all together in a huge bowl. You have to stir and break it up as it cools for a little while. An even easier way to finish it up is to just spread it out on wax paper, then every now and then break it up into smaller chunks... My kids hated waiting for it while it baked in the oven so this worked better for us. Makes it nice a chewy.. YUM! Oh I also made homemade stove top popcorn in a large pot verses using microwave.
