Seafood Piccata

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
wow!what to say? this was phenomenal! we are both big seafood fans and it was nice finding a recipe that was not a white creamy thick and heavy sauce. i made alot of changes though. i didnt have white wine so i used vermouth, only a half a cup with half chicken broth. i only used bay scallops that i had, added broccoli and shredded carrots, green onion and twice the garllic.i did add black pepper, old bay seasoning and a smidge of dill. at the end i did thinken it up a bit with flour, but after adding some parmesan it got thick so again, lol, i thined it out with the wine so we could dunk some custy bread in the sauce.i have to say this is one of the best seafood recipes ive ever tried, it taste like restaurant food.very impressive and even a big hit with my picky eater boyfriend. for everyone who wasnt impressed, play around with it, cut back on the wine, dont forget the lemon though, add different seasonings, switch up the veggies, even different pasta can make a difference. i used linguine.this recipe is deffinatly one i will be making again! thankyou!

Hot Pizza Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
everyone loved this dip! next time i think im gonna have to double the recipe because it didnt last long at all. i did not have french bread but had garlic texas toast. so i sliced each one in half, then cut into wedges and baked them untill they were nice and toasty. i think this worked out great because it added the garlicky flavor that i think the dip was lacking.

I LOVED THIS!! our favorite restraunt , outback steakhouse, has a pasta dish that we ALWAYS get everytime we go there, that they call TOWOOMBA. this was the closest to that dish. i did add mushrooms like they do, the only thing really missing was the crawfish, but you almost dont even miss it. very very good. i actually made this two weeks in a row.

Boiled Chicken

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
very simple. i use the slow cooker when makeing broths or stocks. i also hate wasteing the vegetables so i do something a friend taught me. i save the ends and parts of the veggies i normaly wouldnt in most recipes, and freeze them. then when i have a decent amount of vegetables saved i make this recipe or broth. works very well and i dont feel quilty discarding them when im done.

Baked Chicken with Applesauce Stuffing

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
very good, ive made this twice. once following the recipe and the second time with modifacations. both times it was very good. i however wasn't too fond of the texture of the breadcrumb stuffing, although the flavor was very good. so the second time i used regualr stuffing and added extra applesauce. we enjoyed this meal very much. i do love the idea though of using bread crumbs as stuffing, a great improvising idea!

Chicken and Stuffing Casserole

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
i loved this dish. i was craving stuffing so bad and this was so easy and hit the spot perfectly! i did make a lot of changes though, lol. i cut the recipe in half because its just the two of us, i used one can of cream of chicken, my own homemade chicken broth, and the half cup of evaporated milk it called for. i sauted the chicken with lots of garlic and celery and added it to the bottom of my baking dish. poured a can f corn on top, added the stuffing and then the sauce. when i pulled it out of the oven it looked a little dry so i ended up pouring the rest of the evaporated milk on top. it turned out PERFECT.

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
i love this! i am actually eating it right now. despite what others have said, i thought this was as simple as it gets. i usually flatten and roll the chicken breasts, but i was short on time today and did it the way the recipe calls. i cant wait for my boyfriend to come home tonight and try it. this recie i will definatly share with friends. its simple, yet elegant, perfect for company and oh so yummy. i did though add baby bella's and baked it in butter. ha ha i cant say it enough how great this is.

this was very good and my vey picky boyfriend loved it! i made a few changes though. i flattened the chicken breast and rolled the precooked bacon inside the chicken. then to the cream of mushroom soup mixture i added about 3 tablespoons of dry ranch dressing mix. very good, one of very few recipes ive made that ended with NO leftvers.

Ground Beef Wellington

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
i just made this today for supper. like most recipes this was more of a starting point me.lol. i am loving this recipe. i tweaked it quite a bit though. i sauted celery, onion, mushrooms and garlic together and added it to the meat instead of the gravy. i also added crumbled bacon, cheddar and parmesan cheese, a handful of breadcrumbs, and about 3 tblsps of dry onion soup mix. then wrapped it like it called and used a egg wash on it. also with the gray i added a tblsp of the dry onion soup mix and a packet of brown gravy mix. we absolutely loved this. the versatility of this recipe is endless. i cant wait to make it again!

Chicken Angelo

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
i will have to rerate this after we try it. i read all the reviews before making it so i made made a few changes. i only had 8 oz of muenster, so i only used 8oz; i used half seasoned bread crumbs to half flour;i used half a can of cream of mushroom soup, about a half a can of chicken broth mixed with an envelope chicken gravy and a 1/2 a cup of milk. after transfering the chicken to the casserole dish i poured the gravy mixture into the pan i browned the chicken in and used a whisk to get all the yummy brown bits up. looks very good, cant wait to try it.well we loved it, the gravy turned out perfect, im gonna remeber to try that method with some other recipes. the chicken turned out very juicy and i think 8 oz of cheese was just the right amount. maybe next time i will try this recipe with a little stronger flavored cheese like cheddar. i will definatley make this again.

Country-Style Ribs

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
i agree with most reviewers that this recipe will remain a staple in my house. i love the fact that all ingredients i usually always have in the cupboard. a great recipe when they are stating to get bare. i didnt add any allspice because i didnt have any but the flavor was still good. i do think it could use alittle more zip so next time i think i will try adding some dijon mustard to the sauce. thanks for a great recipe!
