Retired a year ago. I have more time for cooking, but less interest. Married 20+ years to the man I moved to NC for. Have been a secretary, TV copywriter, horse trainer, voice of a national radon testing company, wife a couple of other times, step- and mother to two. Two g-kids.
My favorite things to cook
Things that are ready quickly, or that I can put together and walk away from.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Enchiladas on New Years Eve, pumpkin pie from my gma's recipe, pb cookies from the same source (but I add chocolate chips)walnut butter toffee, peanut brittle, and peanut butter fudge at Christmas only.
My cooking triumphs
Pulling off a dinner of fresh gulf shrimp, battered and fried(with other accompaniments, of course)for ten of DH's Midwest relatives who arrived en masse a full hour late!
My cooking tragedies
A pot of eggs I put on to boil for deviled eggs and forgot about. 'Nuff said!
