well, i'm a stay at home mom of 2 kids, ages 9 and 2. i was born and raised here in California. i love food and love to cook but i never know what to cook. i love this site because it gives me so many ideas and i'm sure my family loves it too now that we get to try new stuff!

my homemade spaghetti sacue, mexican food, italian food and asain food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
thanksgiving. we all bring something and the meal is always sooooo yummy!
My cooking triumphs
making pesole for the first time and only got the driections from a cousin over the phone. i was so excited because i thought i couldnt possibly do it. and now mine comes out better than hers!
My cooking tragedies
cooking the same thing all the time and using the same spices on everything so all the food tastes the same! yuck!!

Shepherd's Pie VI
I was disappointed with this recipe. Not because it was gross, but because it lacked flavor. I added the worchestier (sp?) sauce, plus used beef gravy instead of broth, also added minced garlic to the meat while cooking, but it still lacked flavor. I have made this before using lots of spices and it had a wonderful flavor. Maybe because I had something to compare it to is why I am disappointed. We all ate it, but I wont make it again and I am going to search high and low for the recipe I used before.

Black Bean and Salsa Soup
I defiantly loved this. I altered for 6 servings and left one can whole. Also added a little salt and pepper and jalapenos, cilantro and used chicken broth instead of vegetable broth. Next time I make, which I'm sure will be soon I will had some chicken to make it more filling. Thanks so much for the recipe I LOVE SOUP!!

Oven Fried Parmesan Chicken
we did NOT like this at all. I followed the recipe to a tee and the skin never got even close to crispy, which is what we love. I will never make this again. sorry for the poor review, but I have no clue what went wrong, I didn't change a thing....
