World's Greatest Vegetable Broth

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
True to its name, this IS the Worlds Greatest Veg broth. I've been using this recipe for almost eight years now, in fact i very rarely make chicken stock anymore which is a blessing because this is so much easier (and cleaner) The only change I make is I like to include sweet potato. and instead of just tossing the veg in olive oil I use a mixture of olive oil and tomato paste, it gives it more richness.

Dirty Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
So yummy! I don't know if this is traditional "Dirty Rice" but everyone I've made it for loves it. I like to add sausage or shrimp to make this a full meal and sometimes I finish it off in the oven like a paella. This is a keeper for sure. Thanks Jen

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
I love this recipe!! I've been using it for years. I'm not a big fan of ketchup so i prefer Heinz 57 sauce, I believe it cuts down on the sweetness and gives it a bit more of a kick.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
This recipe was a pleasant surprise! Truth be told I was looking for an alternative to pulled pork (very time consuming) and this was a hit!! Just a note, a good quality bbq sauce is important here. I put the leftovers into a bolognese sauce and result was a very yummy very rich sauce. Thanks!

Summer Salad with Cumin-Crusted Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
This is my new favorite recipe! I make it exactly how it's written and it's perfect every time. For anyone who thinks cumin and orange sounds like a strange combo I urge you to try this. I have made it with numerous fish, haddock is fantastic.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
My husband and I love this recipe, its been in my rotation for years now. My only hint of wisdom is I find pre-ground packaged parmesan to work best as opposed to freshly grated (which I would generally prefer) but that may just be my preference.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
I do love these cookies but I only gave it 4 stars because I found I had to tweak it quite a bit: Because I found the batter a bit thin I added and extra 1/4 cup of flour. I used an electric mixer until about half of the flour was in then added the remaining ingredients with a wooden spoon. I do this everytime and they always come put perfect. And for personal preference I add an extra 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon of each cloves and allspice.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
Best carrot cake ever! I've even seen people who claim not to like carrot cake LOVE this cake. I cut down on the oil and substitute with apple sauce to make it a little lighter. But then of course I smother it in cream cheese buttercream icing. Heavenly

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2013
Wow! Addictive little things. These are always on my list for holiday baking. Like other reviewers suggest, I put the unwrapped pb cups in the freezer for 30 minutes or so. Fantastic! Thanks Buchko
