About this Cook
I have two little girls who love to cook with me, a husband, a dog, two cats and a guinea pig. We are renovating an old rectory which is taking a lot longer than expected but is getting there. We all love to be outside at any time of the year.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking different things, I don't repeat recipes very often. There are a few staples that I can fall back on if I need to like turkey sloppy joes and baked ravioli. We also like to make pizza faces, whole wheat crust, sauce, cheese and any toppings that I can find in the fridge, freezer or pantry. We make individual pizzas and decorate them with very fun faces using the toppings. It was meant to get the girls to eat more veggies on their pizza, but my husband and I get really creative too! I also like anything I can sneak veggies into, like shredded zucchini added to the turkey sloppy joes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love the holidays. We have a huge Christmas dinner of prime rib and yorkshire pudding every year. I can't remember ever having anything else.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that isn't a flop!

Tzatziki Sauce
Yummy. The only thing we did different was finely chop the cuke and skip the processing. Great with falafel and on fries.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread
Great gingerbread. Subbed olive oil for the butter and sliced some ripe pears that I layered on the bottom of the pan. Served with sweetened whipped cream. Yummy and the smell in the house was fantastic.

Balsamic Glazed Carrots
Really good and simple to prepare. My 3 year old gobbled them up. May make a cooked carrot fan out of me yet!
