Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2014
So easy and soo YUMMY!! Best potato soup I have ever had. It really isn't a lot of chopping in my opinion. I measured out all of the ingredients and only used 3 medium potatoes, 1 stalk of celery, a 1/3 of an onion and a small portion of ham. I made sure to have my milk ready so the butter didn't burn and slowly poured a little in at a time. I found taking it away from the heat during this time helped reduce the chance for "lumps".

Blueberry Popovers

It was good. Very easy to whip up. It is a neat and presentable concept for breakfast. I may try putting some spices in the batter next time.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
I made this using Turkey meat. The taste was great, but I did change it a bit. I added about 2 TBSP of Worcestershire to the sauce mix in a bowl and then added it to the meat. I am not sure if anyone else's was like this, but for it to be able to simmer for 30 min, I HAD to add water. I added about 1/2 cup(enough to almost cover all the meat evenly) and brought to a boil. Simmered for about 20 minutes, until the sauce thickened back up. This allows the flavors to cook and saturate the meat, rather than just sit on it.

My Country Style Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2014
I had to add more oil and more water for the gravy to have a smooth consistency. I did not add any salt and it was salty enough. The steaks came out very tender and delicious.

Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2014
This is a fantastic solution to not having the "fried smell" in your home, but still having crispy yummy wings. I did make sure they were patted dry with paper towels before shaking them in the flour Ziploc. I put them in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. I cooked them on a cooling rack over two tinfoil lined cookie sheets. 10 wings a rack, they fit in the oven fine, bottom rack and 2nd to top rack. I cooked them for an hour to ensure maximum crispiness. Though be warned, the drippings made a lot of smoke in the oven and I released the smoke a few times.

Slow Cooker Spanish Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2013
My family really enjoyed this meal. We put it over mashed potatoes and with the left overs I plan on removing most of the juice and sautéing it with bowtie noodles. I only used a 3# roast and it still made plenty for our family of 4, TWICE! I used diced tomatoes(what I had in the pantry). I also used one bag of the mini pepperonis instead of full size, they are more manageable for little ones and less greasy.

Jimmy's Mexican Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2013
I like this recipe because it shows to put the second tortilla on for the first bake time. We upped the time to 15 min so the tortilla would be a little more crispy, but the flavor was DELICIOUS!

This was REALLY GOOD! I did not have Worcestershire sauce, so I substituted for A-1, It came out so yummy! I did everything else the same. I cooked it in the skillet and then put the skillet and all in the oven(my new cool pots). My husband and I agree we could just drink the juices the flavor was soooo good!

Crab Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2013
We loved this! We did add a little old bay, but that was it! It tasted delicious. I didn't have a large bread bowl, I had three small dinner crusty rolls, so I made three small bowls and cooked it the same way. I also put the remaining dip in a small glass bowl to cook(because I don't like to waste).

New York-Style Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2013
This cheesecake is really good! It is worth the waiting, as in it is best to wait and let it cool completely and then chill it in the refrigerator overnight before indulging. Instead of plain graham crackers I used chocolate, it was really good.

Ropa Vieja in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2013
This was really good, it smells salty while cooking but it really isn't. It has good flavor. I did add a little water while cooking because it looked like it was going to dry out/burn around the edges. I don't know how much of a difference it made. I put this over rice. I used the leftover rice and meat to make stuffed cabbage rolls. They were fantastic too!
